Santa
Fe
singer‐songwriter
Jaime
Michaels
has
released
a
stunning
new
CD
called
the
man
with
the
time
machine.
Recorded
in
New
Mexico
at
Jono
Manson’s
famed
Kitchen
Sink
studio,
the
man
with
the
time
machine
runs
the
gamut
from
a
lullaby
to
welcome
Manson’s
new
baby
girl
“lullaby
for
natnaya”,
to
the
magical
midnight
leap
“wish
on
the
moon,”
to
an
upbeat,
comical
goodbye
to
a
lost
love
“china
dog”
and
to
the
poignantly
romantic
title
tune
“the
man
with
the
time
machine”.
The
album
features
a
stellar
cast
of
musicians
from
all
over
the
globe.
Blues
Traveler’s
John
Popper
blows
his
instantly
recognizable
harmonica,
and
Joel
Guzman
lends
his
expert
accordion.
England’s
one
and
only
George
Breakfast
comes
pickin’,
as
does
guitarist
Kevin
Trainor,
frontman
for
New
York
City’s
legendary
alt‐
country
groundbreakers
the
Surreal
McCoys.
Jono
Manson
lends
some
grooves,
as
do
the
the
Flyin’
A’s
and
banjo
wizard
Jeff
Scroggins.
Michaels
graces
these
songs
with
beautiful,
sophisticated,
folk‐inflected
writing,
rounding
them
out
with
exquisite
arrangements
and
the
aforementioned
killer
guests.
Of
note
on
this
CD
is
an
elegy
to
families
working
with
pride
of
place
through
the
years,
“Black
River.”
One
hundred
percent
of
sales
of
the
single
version
of
the
song
benefit
those
impacted
by
the
Gulf
oil
spill
through
the
Greater
New
Orleans
Foundation
(www.gnof.org),
as
do
ten
percent
of
album
sales.
