Free and open to all, 365 days a year, Lincoln Park Zoo’s
educational programs and conservation initiatives
teach three million annual visitors about the interdependence of all living things and the importance
of habitat protection and preservation.
Zoo Ball 2006 supports the Women's Board's $2 million
endowment pledge for the Great Hall in Regenstein
Center for African Apes, which opened to the public in
July, 2004. Lincoln Park Zoo has long been a leader in
the conservation of apes and the new facility will enable
zoo researchers and animal care staff to extend that
reputation into the future, while educating zoo visitors
about these majestic animals.
