Keiser Functional Trainer Hip Set Up Procedure Hip Adduction Arms Adjust the arms to the lowest notch, where the height is at ground level (as seen in picture on right). Handle Bars Each foot will loop thru the handle bars. Make sure the handle bars are attached to the machines’ arms. Resistance The left and right yellow knobs adjust the weight resistance. To add more weight, push the right knob. To decrease weight, push left knob. Tips & Techniques Hip Adduction Form • Stand perpendicular to machine and a couple of feet away • Cross the leg that is in the handle bar in front of the stabilizing leg • Move back to starting position and repeat. Do the Following • Make sure you stand a couple of feet from the machine to receive proper resistance • Put hands on hips to balance body during exercise • Keep toes pointed forward (same direction as body position) during entire exercise • Keep knees straight the entire exercise Do Not Do the Following • Do not rotate the spine or hip to increase movement Keiser Functional Trainer Hip Set Up Procedure Hip Abduction Arms Adjust the arms to the lowest notch, where the height is at ground level (as seen in picture on right). Do the Following • Hold onto the machine for added balance support • Keep toes pointed forward (same direction as body position) during entire exercise • Keep knees straight during entire exercise Do Not Do the Following • Do not bend the spine or hip to increase movement
