(Of course, no burning till after May 15….) Hunt at the Copley House. Hosted by the Lyme Community Foundation, children and families of all ages dart across the lawn, in search of those illusive “prize eggs.” It is all in the name of fun and celebrating Easter as a community. A special thanks to the Dollar General, who donate a good share of the prizes each year, to the volunteers who work tirelessly to prepare the eggs and baskets, and the bunny brigade who hide the eggs. Families look forward to this fun and free event every year. (For more pictures, log on to the Lyme Community Foundation’s Facebook Page.) We will soon be welcoming our summer residents, as they return to open their cottages and camps. Greene invites you to join us as we come together to support the Miracle House, a non- profit charity, that provides housing, meals, and advocacy to caregivers and patients coming to New York City for critical cancer – related medical treatment. In memory of John, we are coordinating our 5th fundraiser; Golf Tournament /Car show/Craft show/ Raffle in order to raise monies for Miracle House and for families who are experiencing similar circumstances to those that we have undergone in recent months. It is our hope that your organization will embrace this challenge along with us. Miracle House did indeed provide a miracle for John and several of our family members. After a diagnosis of cancer, he was referred to a specialist in New York City. Initial anxieties of the expenses related to a long stay in NYC were alleviated by the knowledge that Miracle House would help. Often individuals in our area are referred to NYC for treatment and Miracle House offers very affordable housing and support during this most difficult time. If you are interested in more information on Miracle House check out their web site www.miraclehouse.org/ We invite you and team members to participate in the events on this day. Please join us in this most important endeavor. I thank you for your partnership and look forward to your response. For further information please contact me at (315) 649-2587 or cell 315 7777344.
