She was born and raised in Bald Knob, Arkansas, and had a string of dead end jobs. She faithfully drove a school bus for over 10 years. One night, while volunteering as a BINGO caller, she recalls, “the ball sucker got stuck, and I was forced to entertain a room full of angry Catholics. It was then I realized I could make people laugh.” Etta May, will take you on a redneck ride through the Deep South. Balsam Range Oct. 7 - 7:30pm $25/$20/$10 2014 IBMA’s Entertainers of the Year, Balsam Range is comprised of five gifted friends who all hail from Western North Carolina. Come enjoy this classic musical based on books by P.L Travers and one of the most popular Disney movies of all time. The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones she has a profound effect upon. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it." A Person County Hee Haw Country Christmas - Dec. 9 & 10 - 7:30pm Written and directed Dec. 11 - 3:00pm by Eddy Daniel $20/$16/$10 Last year's HEE HAW PERSON COUNTY was such a big hit, we're bringing it back! The same family-friendly, country cornfield setting with foot-stomping country music and outrageously hilarious corny jokes, set to a Christmas theme, will leave you laughing and crying as you join Roy and Buck, Junior and Goober, Mary Anne and Minnie Pearl, and the rest of the Hee-Haw family and the Hee-Haw Band as we celebrate Christmas in Person County the HEE-HAW way! Singer-songwriter Shawn Mullins admits that some songs on his new album, My Stupid Heart, address his perceived relationship failures. But it’s also a bit of a joke, he says, because he firmly believes in following his heart — no matter where it leads. That oh-so-fallible, yet essential part of our being is, it turns out, the guiding force behind just about every song on the album — the theme of which, he says, is summed up most succinctly by another song title: “It All Comes Down to Love.” Mullins says, it’s not all that different from most of his discography — which includes 1998’s Soul’s Core, the album that shot him to fame on the strength of its Grammy nominated No. 1 hit, “Lullaby,” and 2006’s 9th Ward Pickin’ Parlor, which contained his AAA/Americana No. 1, “Beautiful Wreck.” Directed by Ray Pearce By purchasing a PASS Package you receive one ticket to all 8 performances, 15% off ticket prices and a free ticket to Seussical Jr. (Discount reflected in given price.) $20/$16/$10 $20/$16/$10 Performing Arts Series Season Packages: Roxboro Little Theater Feb. 10 & 11 - 6:30pm Feb. 12 - 5:30pm Dress Circle $153 -Dress Circle section seating Kirby Theater Seating Chart Stage Dress Circle Orchestra $128 -Orchestra section seating Patron $89 -Patron section seating Student Package $47 (Ages 5 & up) Orchestra Left Orchestra Center Orchestra Right Patron Left Patron Center Patron Right (Does not include Dinner Theater) --OR-Design Your Own Package: Pick 5! 10% off!
