Cruise 2 Nice – Monaco
Cruise 2 Nice – Monaco – Port Grimaud Day 1 After settling onboard, the evening can be spent strolling around the old town of Nice. The old town is a fantastic area to stumble across the many bars and restaurants or simply people watch on the Cours Seleya. An interesting restaurant to visit would be “La Petite Maison”. The food is “high end” provencal, although casual; often frequented by stars such as Michael Caine! Booking in advance is essential. +33 493 92 59 59 Day 2 Having departed Nice after a leisurely breakfast we will then head to Villefranche for lunch at anchor. Villefranche is a deep, natural bay, often busy yet tranquil. After a leisurely afternoon we will head towards Monaco (approximately 30 minutes) to spend the night in this spectacular harbour. In Monaco, you will find plenty to do – perhaps a visit to… www.lamascarade.eu 1 Cruise 2 Nice – Monaco – Port Grimaud Day 2 Con’t the Casino (don’t forget passports!), then a visit to the world famous Jimmy’z nightclub to complete your birthday celebrations. Should you choose to eat ashore there is a fantastic, very casual, restaurant at La Turbie called La Fontaine (+33 493 28 52 79). Here you will find the workman rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous. Day 3 Following a 14:00pm departure from Monaco we will then head to Cap Ferrat for a late lunch, the travel time from Monaco is approximately 20 mins. Cap Ferrat is a great place to take a swim and maybe indulge in a spot of water sports. Having departed Cap Ferrat we will head towards Antibes, (approximately 1 hour). Antibes often dubbed “the capital of yachting” is full of the charm and bustle that you would expect from a historical fishing town. There are many good restaurants to choose from here, including the famous Michelin starred “Bacon” (+33 493 61 50 02), Le Vieux Murs (+33 493 34 06 73) – both would need a reservation. After dinner there are plenty of small bars to choose from along the narrow cobbled streets and naturally protected port. www.lamascarade.eu 2 Cruise 2 Nice – Monaco – Port Grimaud Day 4 With a travelling time of 45 minutes we will arrive at the Iles de Lerins, this is made up of two islands, located just off the palm beach point of Cannes. The smaller of the two islands, Ile de Honorat is home to an active monastery; the second and larger island is called Marguerite. There are a few small restaurants and an old prison which can be visited. The prison, allegedly, is where King Louis XIV's twin brother was held – the man in the iron mask! Day 4 Con’t - Cannes (old port) itself is only a short trip, 10 minutes, from the islands. Once in Cannes, well known for its shopping and glamorous hotels is a wonderful place to take a walk down the famous promenade. There’s a great seafood restaurant in Cannes called “Brun” (+33 493 39 21 87), located within 2 minutes walk from the port, it serves great seafood (arguably the best on the coast), it has a very laissez faire feel – “shabby chic”, highly recommended, reservation may be possible. Cannes also has a casino located just next to the port. www.lamascarade.eu 3 Cruise 2 Nice – Monaco – Port Grimaud Day 5 Departing Cannes at midday, we could take a coast hugging cruise in the direction of St Tropez, cruising along the Esterel, well known for its’ bright red rock. Stopping for lunch and a swim at Cap du Dramont, which is a “local” beach resort area – not too busy though. Departing early evening, heading to Saint Tropez. The playground of the rich and famous, a great place for people watching – the best view being from the Senequier café on the port, easy to find with its red tables and chairs! The fish market is superb here (mornings only), I’m sure the chef would love to shop here for your lunch the following day. With several restaurants along the port and around the town you will be spoilt for choice. Hotel Sube is a popular place for an aperitif. Day 6 Departing St Tropez after breakfast, heading out of the Golfe de St Tropez to drop anchor at Pampelonne beach where you will find the famous beach clubs such as Nikki beach (+33 494 79 82 04), Club 55 (+33 494 55 55 55), Voile Rouge (+33 494 79 84 34) and Taihiti beach (+33 494 97 18 02). All of these clubs generally do two sittings for lunch at 1pm and 3pm. A reservation is essential. www.lamascarade.eu 4 Cruise 2 Nice – Monaco – Port Grimaud Day 6 Con’t If a quieter experience is what you would prefer we could continue around the coast, one bay further, where you find a more relaxed pace. Having partied or relaxed, we will head back into the Golfe to Port Grimaud; known as little Venice it is full of charm and worth a walk around, or a trip in the tender through all the waterways. You will find plenty of choice here for drinks, although the restaurants here are generally touristy. Day 7 Departing from Port Grimaud after breakfast, heading back in the direction of Nice.
