Where to Live
As part of the relocation package you will be provided with two weeks
accommodation in a hotel. During this time we will support and assist
you in finding your home.
Once you have chosen an area and found your property, there are a
few things you need to know.
Your landlord is responsible for making the property fit for living in. He
or she must make sure that water, electricity and gas supplies, and
sanitation units, are in working order and ensure that the property is
free from damp.
The property must also have adequate heating, lighting and
ventilation. If the property is furnished, the landlord must ensure that
those furnishings meet the fire resistance standards and that all gas
appliances and installations are maintained in good order and that an
annual safety check is carried out.
In turn, as a tenant, you are responsible for paying the rent as agreed
and taking proper care of the property. You are also responsible for
paying the bills for gas, electricity, water, telephone, internet, tv license
and council tax.
We strongly recommend that you read your tenancy contract
thoroughly, as it will also detail notice periods for you and the landlord.

Health Care
Entitlement to state provided health care, provided by the NHS in the UK,
is currently based on residency status and not nationality.
If you are coming from overseas to work in the UK and you live here
legally, you can get health care from the NHS while you are here.
Most healthcare in the UK is provided free of charge. The exception is
dental care. State run dentists are subsidized by the government,
however, there is usually a small charge to pay. Depending on the
treatment you require, this can vary from around £10 and is capped at
£384 for complex dental treatments,
You should try to register with a local doctor (known as a GP) and dentist
as quickly as possible.

Local Transport
Kingston has an excellent level of public transport
provision with fast trains direct into London. Upon your
arrival in the UK you will receive, as part of the
relocation package, an Oyster Card with 50 pounds
already loaded onto it. This will enable you to travel
around Kingston and London. Once this initial amount
has been spent you can top your oyster card up easily at
any train station and some newsagents. Sitel Kingston
also offers a Travel Ticket Loan, details of which Sitel can
provide you with during your first weeks with the
Company.
Below is a link to Travel For London which will provide
you with all you need to know in terms of costs, maps
and locations of travel.

Cycling
Cyclists tend to fare well in Kingston, with many cycle
routes crossing all over the town. The majority of
main roads also have well marked cycle lanes. For
those living in and about the town centre, the
bicycle, weather permitting can be an economic and
practical way to get about.

and hiring of bike, rides and events:

London and Kingston can be a fairly expensive area in which to live and work, so you
should be proactive about managing your income and expenditure, especially if you are
moving from a country where the general cost of living is lower.
The UK Government has a website which provides advice on many aspects of money
management, and there are also many websites that give advice and tips on how to save
and spend your money wisely. We have listed some of these below.

Opening a Bank Account
You will probably wish to open a UK bank account once
you are in the UK. It is useful to make some
preparations for this before you leave your home
country to aid the process. Banks have increased their
security measures over recent years and because of
this it may take around 2 weeks for your account to be
open and for you to be able to make transactions. It is
therefore very important that you bring with you
sufficient funds to cover your expenses for this early
period. Do however avoid bringing large sums of cash
with you. We will provide you with all the support you
need including proof of address letters in order for you
to open a bank account.
Lloyds TSB Bank in Kingston is a popular choice for new
