activities. Amongst these are
the training of riders and
professionals of the equestrian
world; the selection of
Purebred Spanish Horses for
their breeding and
conservation as well as the
preservation, research and
promotion of the equestrian
art through its museums and
sports competition among
others.
Although the show “How the
Andalusian Horses Dance” may
be considered the highest
sample of the work done in
our Foundation, its raison
d’être goes much further since
it follows different action
lines, basing its activity mainly
on its vocation for teaching

EXHIBITIONS
Among the different functions that the Royal
School fulfills, it is remarkable its role as an
international social vehicle of the Andalusian
culture and traditions and the important
cultural legacy that its exhibition “How the
Andalusian Horses dance” represents.
The show is an equestrian ballet
accompanied by totally Spanish music and
18th Century style costumes, all put together
and choreographed using movements based
upon Classical Dressage, Doma Vaquera
(Country Dressage) and the daily chores of
traditional equestrian work. The rider
becomes one with the horse when dancing in
time to the suggestive music, raising their
communication to the level of art.
GALAS
The Royal School offers the visitor two
performances of its exhibition in the
indoor arena every week. Each show
consists of between six and eight different
choreographies based on Classical
Dressage, Doma Vaquera, Haute École
dressage exercises and Carriage Driving.
TOURS AND PRIVATE EXHIBITIONS
The School makes promotional tours of its
show around Spain and abroad. Private
exhibitions can also be arranged on the
Foundation premises.
INDOOR ARENA
With the capacity to seat up to 1.563
spectators, it is the venue for the “How
the Andalusian Horses Dance” show
and for several past national and
international competitions.

MUSEUMS AND VISITS
The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art
Foundation, as a repository of the Andalusian
equestrian heritage, proposes a tour which
enables us to experience and understand the art
of horsemanship, its study and spread through
different resources, inviting the visitor to enjoy
this art with all five senses.
The Visitor Reception Centre, the Museum of
Equestrian Art and the Carriage Museum, the
Saddlery, the Tack Room, the Stables, the Indoor
Arena and other Training Exercise Rings, the
Botanical Garden and the Recreo de las Cadenas
Palace are the Foundation facilities that lead us
into the essence of the equestrian art.
MUSEUM OF EQUESTRIAN ART
Equipped with cutting-edge museographic technology, we can learn
from the exhibitions gathered in the eleven rooms that compose it
about the origins and history of the equestrian art and the horse in
Andalusia and in the world, the history of the Royal School, the
professions related to the world of the horse, the Haute École
dressage exercises and the different equestrian disciplines. It also
helps us to better understand the horse as an animal by
interpreting its behaviour, habits and attitudes.
CARRIAGE MUSEUM
The museum is made up of six rooms or singular spaces
which take visitors on an active journey through the
world of carriage driving, a journey including an
excellent collection of carriages and harnesses exhibited
using innovative multimedia projections and interactive
systems and a visit to the stables and the work areas,
what makes this museum unique in its genre.
