As you will see in this issue a lot has happened in that time. Some of you may have noticed Shark Marine has revamped our website. Our goal with this new site was to make it easier for our customers to navigate and keep up to date. We will be adding new content and announcements regularly so be sure to check back often, any feedback you have on the new site is also welcome. Shark Marine’s design team has been busy enhancing our existing products and creating some new ones such as the Dive Tablet, EagleRay, Sea Wolf 5 and Barracuda ROV. Shark Marine has also recently become a reseller for Thermalution’s line of heated Undersuits. There is some more information on all of these products below. ... EagleRay The EagleRay is a portable propulsion system that can be quickly added to the Navigator. The EagleRay’s small size and light weight make it easy to manoeuver while searching for targets using the Navigators sonar, or keeping on course Issue 1 2015 with its Track screen. Its powerful thrusters cut through current putting less strain on the diver and allowing them to cover a large area in a small amount of time. Saving air, time, and possibly lives. ... Sea-Wolf 5 Sea-Wolf 5 in 4 thruster configuration Shark Marine is proud to announce the newest addition to our ROV lineup, the Sea-Wolf 5. Staying true to its roots the new Sea-Wolf is rugged, reliable and powerful. The Sea-Wolf 5 is also the most versatile ROV its size, available with a 4 thruster or 6 vectored thruster configuration maximising maneuverability, a high payload capacity with a modular floatation system making it easy to add even more additional equipment. The Sea-Wolf 5 isn’t just one of the easiest ROVs on the market to fly, it will actually fly itself. Shark Marines Total Navigation System and DiveLog software can guide the Sea-Wolf 5 along 3D survey routes or back to known targets and even hold station allowing the operator to focus his attention on the vehicles sensors or operation of the manipulator arms. Upon completion of the project DiveLog will even generate a report showing areas covered by each sensor, and details on any marked targets or objects of interest including screenshots, and segments of the video or sonar files. Continued on Page 2 Page 1 Thermalution Sea-Wolf 5 in its 6 thruster configuration, shown with 4 function hydraulic manipulator arm ... Dive Tablet Shark Marine now carries Thermalution’s line of electric heated undersuits. These suits are designed to be worn under wet or dry suit and use a non-metallic heating element to keep the wearer warm during their dive. For more information on any of these products and how they can be used please contact us at Shark Marine DiveLog software updates Version 4.1 build 103 is now available. Some highlights from this update are: 3D Routes, 3D Sonar Export and KML export, Obstical avoidance for the MAKO DDS, and Support for SeaEye Thrusters. For a full update listing please contact Shark Marine. Keep up to date with Shark’s Software Maintainance Agreement. ... Demos ... The Dive Tablet is an affordable solution for anyone that requires accurate underwater positioning. Using advanced dead reckoning or gps Dive Tablet allows operators to map underwater habitats, document archaeological sites, take geo referenced photos and video, or simply navigate underwater. Dive Tablets small size and rugged construction makes it a good fit for use on RHIBs and other surface vessels where it can be used for navigation, or to track and communicate with divers using Shark Marine’s Sub-NET System. ... Shark Marine’s MAKO DDS on site in Austria Over the past two years Shark Marine has participated in Experience Week, a hands on equipment demonstration and trial hosted by our distributer in Austria, Outer Limits. In 2015 we are looking forward to once again participating in Austria, and also holding two demos in North America, one on each coast. For more information on demos in your area or to request specific equipment please contact us at Shark Marine. ... Shark Marine Named one of Canada’s Top 50 Defence Companies Shark Marine Technologies Inc., named one of the top 50 Defence Companies in Canada, is listed in Canadian Defence Review Magazine’s April 2015 issue. Honored to be recognized for contributions to the defence industry, Shark Marine Technologies Inc. continues Continued on Page 3 Page 2 to develop subsea systems specifically for EOR / EOD and MCM operations as well as first responders, designed to make challenging and difficult tasks safer for the Men and Women of the Military that place themselves in harm’s way. Products range from Remotely Operated Vehicles, “The Navigator” Diver Held Sonar Imaging and Navigation System, “The Mako Diver Delivery System” and more. The basic systems would consist of Side-Scan Sonar, Pole Mounted Sonar, our Navigator Diver Held Navigation and Sonar Imaging System and such accessories as metal detection equipment. Having the right equipment to conduct searches in difficult and challenging circumstances is important, but having the knowledge on how to conduct these searches efficiently and safely is the key element. Canadian Defence Review is Canada’s leading defence and military journal. The training consists of a 3 day program involving both classroom and field operations. Trainees will obtain skills on how to assess the situation to determine the proper equipment for the application and how to properly use that equipment to expedite the search, improve their success rate and more importantly increase the safety for the divers. Our software and equipment interoperability is the key to having an efficient and effective search. Trainees that complete the course will then be able to rent the equipment needed and in most cases we can make it available at your facility the next day. Another benefit to our program is having access to our experts with a simple telephone call. The Training is done at our facility in St.Catharines, Ontario. If you cannot come to us we can conduct the training at your facility. ... Search and Recovery Technical Equipment Support Program Realizing that many search and recovery organizations have budget restraints and may not be able to afford or justify owning the technical equipment required to expedite a search and recovery operation and also to provide enhanced safety and situational awareness to the divers, Shark Marine Technologies Inc. has developed a program to assist anyone providing search and recovery services. The program is designed to train SAR personnel on how to use this equipment for both large and small area searches and then have this equipment quickly available for their missions. At Shark Marine Technologies Inc., we believe this program meets a need in the Search and Recovery community by assisting users with a more effective and efficient search yielding enhanced results. Barracuda Shark Marine is proud to intoduce our latest ROV The Barricuda. Designed with a focus on search and recovery and target reaquisition in mind, the Barracuda is lightweight, easy to deploy, and loaded with advanced capabilities. The Barracuda was built around Shark Marine’s Total Navigation System (TNS) and operates on our DiveLog software. This gives the Barracuda full geodetic positioning and autonomous capabilities. Operators need only tell the Barracuda which target to approach or which survey route to follow and the ROV handles the rest. Having a geodetic position also means all video and sonar data is GeoReferenced for evidence gathering or mosaicking. Not only is the Barracuda smart enough to hunt down targets, it’s streamlined design and powerfull thrusters ensure that it will reach them.
