Race Street Pier Wedding Ceremonies
Race Street Pier, with dynamic views of the Delaware River and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge as well as
trees, plantings, grassy areas and unique hardscapes, is available for Wedding Ceremonies. Please see the
following page for examples of wedding ceremonies that have taken place on Race Street Pier.
Race Street Pier can be reserved for Wedding Ceremonies only, not wedding receptions or cocktail hours.
Race Street Pier is currently the only venue on Penn’s Landing property that issues permits for Wedding Ceremonies. Wedding Ceremony permits are issued for a 2-hour time period and costs $200, DRWC is unable to
hold dates so please send in your application and payment as soon as possible. DRWC can provide power for
small sound systems. Other rentals such as tables, chairs, arches or other décor may be available through
DRWC exclusive equipment rental provider, The Party Center, Jason Tornetta, 610-935-8368 or
[email protected]. DRWC and Race Street Pier do not have any accommodations for inclement
weather, please make rain contingency plans with your reception venue.
Race Street Pier is not entirely closed for the wedding ceremony. DRWC blocks off a two hour window for
the wedding ceremony. The lower level walkway of Race Street Pier is blocked off and DRWC Security is on
site to make sure the general public does not interrupt the ceremonies.
Parking Options - Parking is not available at Race Street Pier, the meters in front of Race Street Pier are City
of Philadelphia meters and are not under DRWC jurisdiction.
Closest self parking is the lot at the Holiday Inn Express across the street. If you would like to make
arrangements for parking, the management company contact is Michael Bozar, Senior Manager,

Valet parking is available, please contact Weiss Royal Valet - 267 228 3900, they can operate a valet
operation for $15 per car.

This application is for Wedding Ceremony and/or Wedding Party or Engagement Photos only. A
copy of the permit must remain on-site for security review. Permits are non-transferable and
non-refundable. Refunds will not be granted for inclement weather. X___________

Applicant shall ensure that all parties involved in the ceremony and / or photo shoot shall not
drive or park vehicles on Race Street Pier, sidewalks or entry way. X ____________
Delaware River Waterfront Corporation is not able to provide amenities such as sound systems,
tables, chairs, tents, or other support materials and services. Provisions for parking are NOT
included in the issuance of any Delaware River Waterfront Corporation permit. Tents are not
permitted on Race Street Pier. The Party Center is the exclusive rental equipment provider for
Delaware River Waterfront Corporation. All rentals including tables, chairs, arches, other items

A certificate of insurance must be provided for all contracted vendors naming Delaware River
Waterfront Corporation as the certificate holder and the following entities as additional insureds
under the vendor’s general liablity policy:
 Delaware River Waterfront Corporation
 The City of Philadelphia
 The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Philadelphia
 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
In addition, the certificate of insurance will reflect the following coverages with the insurer
endeaving to mail 30 day notice of cancelation to the certificate holder:
1. Commercial General Liability coverage with a minimum amount of $1,000,000 per
occurrence with a $1,000,000 annual aggregate.
2. Workers’ Compensation coverage with the statutory limits of $100,000 each
accident/$100,000 each employee/$500,000 policy aggregate.

Alcoholic beverages are not permitted at Race Street Pier. X ___________
Fastening or attaching any rope, signage, banner, flyer or other object to any tree, shrub,
fencing or railing on Race Street Pier is strictly prohibited and automatically voids the permit. X

prescribed herein and by the ordinances of Race Street Pier and Delaware River Waterfront
Corporation, the laws of the City of Philadelphia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and

Applicant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Delaware River Waterfont Corporation, The
Redevelopment Authority of the City of Philadelphia, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania from
any liability to any person resulting from any property damage or personal injury occuring in
connection with the wedding ceremony and / or photo shoot caused by the applicant or the
sponsoring organization, its officers, employees, or any person under its control. X ___________

5. Receive your Permit
