February 2016 We Celebrate Our 22nd Year!
Pooch Palace has taken on a new look.
As we celebrate our 22 year this February, the pooch demands
and offerings have changed since our beginnings. Many of our
existing pooch clients are aging just as we are or have passed to
Pooch Heaven. Hearing of each loss, not only have we lost the
POOCH, but in many cases, families making their decisions not
to have a new Pooch. Then we are out of the loop of births, family celebrations, announcements and the trials of life. It is truly a
loss for us all round and felt deeply.

With improved Veterinary care and advanced medical procedures attending to chronic health issues, many guys are living
longer, and now requiring more specialized care. Long ago, we
discussed as our regular clients were aging, that we couldn’t now
turn them away. Deciding to do what we needed to do to care
for them, even in their old age. Some older and younger guys
are requiring injections, emergency meds for seizures, specific
provided supplements, given or added to food in a pre-determined sequence and time frame. Some can’t do the stairs or
ramp, and others having become crotchety, and can’t be with
other pooches. Therefore we now offer POOCH RUNS, FAST
WALKS & SNIFF & STROLLS for extra or needed exercise apart
from the two Yards. With these specific requirements, we do
our best to accommodate the requests and provide the attention
needed to ensure our motto: “HAPPY, HEALTHY, TIRED and
CLEAN if you asked for a bath or groom.”

Whimsey & Hazel Nut – My daughter told me when she dropped them off, “they were so excited, they just love going there.”
Keke – She usually shakes in the car, when she comes up the walk, she is so excited to go in.
Maggie BR – It is so nice that you are so flexible with changing dates and time.
Quisie – We are so glad you are here!
Jessie May – We know she is in good hands. I don’t know what we did without
you before.
Star T – Your place is the only one that she looks forward to coming to.
Ruby Rose – Glad to have found you.
Maggie Br – We so appreciate how flexible you are!
Milo A/B – He just loves coming here, he gets so excited as soon as we enter
Watertown!
Nimbus – She just loves coming here!
We support the Schusterman Family & Children Center in Jerusalem, Israel. Since 2009, we have matched and donated
proceeds from Rosh Hashana & Yom Kippur pet care. This year
(2015) we raised $10,420 in matched revenues for Israel which
brings us over $45,000. Join our efforts! As a note, client payment
for Rosh Hashana & Yom Kippur should be submitted after the
holiday.
We also support Phinney’s Friends, who believe that the human-animal bond is a source of love, joy, comfort and fulfillment
for both people and their pets. To this end, Phinney’s Friends
volunteers are dedicated to helping low-income
individuals with disabling illnesses or
other hardships maintain this bond with
their pets by providing assistance with
everyday pet care. With last years
donations of $32,980, to date we
have raised over $504,302 since
joining their efforts in 1997.

Yaz the Lab – I Can’t tell you how much I appreciate that you were able to take Yaz in this vulnerable condition and do what needs to be done for his arthritis.
Charlie A – We appreciate so much that you were able to accommodate Charlie A’s special needs to be kept alone but walked to not injure his leg after the operation.
Axl – Thanks for taking such good care of him while our daughter is on her honeymoon.

Because of your support through the Pooch Palace
Calendar and Holiday Raffle, Phinney’s Friends saved
145 pets in Massachusetts this year.
These cats and dogs received help such as life-saving
surgeries and medication, and even ongoing care at
home. With this additional care, their owners living with
chronic illnesses, battling eviction and unemployment
could still enjoy the company and love of their dear
pets. While still providing pets and people with a safe
and wonderful home.
We paid vet bills, walked dogs, cleaned cat litter boxes,
took animals to the vet, fostered them — you name it we
did it. We also provided lots of advice to many families
not counted in this number, and made sure they found
the right resources and approached their challenges
with as much information as possible.
It’s only because of your donations that we can do all
this work. And 100% of your contributions go to the
pets in need. We are totally volunteer-run and keep our
costs to a minimum, so we can help as many animals as
possible.
So this year, be sure to bid on a raffle, even if you don’t
need it. There are dogs and cats out there that DO.
