THEATRE NURTURING young audiences with programming and educational programs that spark interest and joy. YOUR PRESENTING national touring Broadway straight from New York to the Opera House stage. SEPTEMBER 16 • 8:00PM SEPTEMBER 17 • 2:00PM & 8:00PM SEPTEMBER 18 • 1:00PM & 6:30PM In 1996, an original rock musical by a little-known composer opened on Broadway… and forever changed the landscape of American theatre. Two decades later, Jonathan Larson’s RENT continues to speak loudly and defiantly to audiences across generations and all over the world. And now, this Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award®winning masterpiece returns to the stage in a vibrant 20th anniversary touring production. A re-imagining of Puccini’s La Bohème, RENT follows an unforgettable year in the lives of seven artists struggling to follow their dreams without selling out. With its inspiring message of joy and hope in the face of fear, this timeless celebration of friendship and creativity reminds us to measure our lives with the only thing that truly matters — love. WHY YOU SHOULD GO The original Broadway production went on a 12-year run with over 5,000 performances. Newsweek magazine raves, “A thrilling musical performed by explosive talent.” CO-PRESENTED BY: JANUARY 20 • 8:00PM JANUARY 21 • 2:00PM & 8:00PM JANUARY 22 • 1:00PM & 6:30PM PIPPIN is a high-flying, death-defying hit Broadway musical! Full of extraordinary acrobatics, wondrous magical feats, and soaring songs from the composer of Wicked, PIPPIN will lift you up and leave you smiling. Hailed as “an eye-popping, jaw-dropping extravaganza” (NY1), it’s unlike anything you have ever seen! PIPPIN is noted for many Broadway standards including “Corner of the Sky,” “Magic To Do,” “Glory,” “No Time at All,” “Morning Glow,” and “Love Song.” Come experience PIPPIN, one young man’s journey to be extraordinary. WHY YOU SHOULD GO This captivating new production comes straight from Broadway. It features sizzling choreography in the style of Bob Fosse and breathtaking acrobatics. CO-PRESENTED BY: FEBRUARY 17 • 7:30PM FEBRUARY 18 • 1:00PM & 7:30PM FEBRUARY 19 • 1:00PM & 6:30PM Please Note: Family-friendly performance times for this show. Rodgers + Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA is the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical from the creators of The Sound of Music and South Pacific that’s delighting audiences with its contemporary take on the classic tale. This lush production features an incredible orchestra, jawdropping transformations and all the moments you love— the pumpkin, the glass slipper, the masked ball and more— plus some surprising new twists! Be transported back to your childhood as you rediscover some of Rodgers + Hammerstein’s most beloved songs, including “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible/It’s Possible” and “Ten Minutes Ago,” in this hilarious and romantic Broadway experience for anyone who’s ever had a wish, a dream... or a really great pair of shoes. WHY YOU SHOULD GO It has been remade for television twice, but this is the first (and only) version of Rogers + Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA produced expressly for the Broadway stage. CO-PRESENTED BY: MARCH 17 • 8:00PM MARCH 18 • 2:00PM & 8:00PM MARCH 19 • 1:00PM & 6:30PM BAREFOOT IN THE PARK features newlyweds Corie and Paul Bratter, having completed their six-day honeymoon, moving into their first apartment in Greenwich Village in New York City. Corie is romantic, impulsive, and enthusiastic, while her husband is a proper, careful, even “stuffy” young attorney who is more concerned with his budding legal career than he is with helping build their love nest and perpetuating the honeymoon atmosphere. Soon Corie and Paul quarrel, Paul questioning Corie’s judgment and Corie questioning Paul’s sense of romance and adventure. Even in his first play, acclaimed playwright and humorist Neil Simon had mastered the qualities that would make him enormously successful. First and foremost, BAREFOOT IN THE PARK is clever and hilarious, filled with snappy dialogue and witty one-liners. WHY YOU SHOULD GO Neil Simon is a genius of comedy and of the human heart. Through comedy, he explores love, relationship, marriage, and family––the pangs of loss and the joy of reunion. CO-PRESENTED BY: APRIL 21 • 8:00PM APRIL 22 • 2:00PM & 8:00PM APRIL 23 • 1:00PM & 6:30PM They took Broadway by storm in one of the biggest hits of all time! Now, THE MIDTOWN MEN are bringing their magic to audiences everywhere, singing their favorite “Sixties Hits” from The Beatles, The Rascals, Motown, The Four Seasons, and more, back to life! Robert Spencer, star in this one-of-a-kind concert experience celebrating the music that defined the ‘60s.
