Coming into Jamestown from Oakdale (hiway 108), turn right on 5th Ave (just before Sierra Motors) and follow 5th to Railtown on your left. Be there around 3pm if you want to tour the park. We board the train at 4pm, so don’t be late!!! Either follow hiway 120 out of Manteca and continue on hiway 108 to Jamestown, or take hiway 4 out of Stockton and turn right onto O’Byrne’s Ferry road at Copperopolis over to hiway 108. ****************************************************** ****************************************************** ********************************************** ** Black Oak Casino is at 19398 Tuolumne Rd in Tuolumne - 12 miles from Railtown. Turn right (north) on hiway 108 into Sonora. Turn right on Mono way and then right on Tuolumne Road for 6.7 miles. At the signal, turn right on Tuolumne Road N. about 0.5 miles find Black Oak Casino on the left. Things To Do Depending on when you arrive in the area, there are lots of fun things to do before we get things started at Railtown. Historic walks: Downtown Jamestown Downtown Sonora Columbia State Park (Gold Mining) Twain Harte Murphy’s (allow approx. 1 hour each way) For Saturday Night after the BBQ, there will be some activities at the Black Oak Casino. Participants will be given $10 play money if they sign up for a player’s card. Brow: (open noon Sat.) From Jamestown: Take the Jamestown-Shaws Flat Rd. approximately 4 miles to Mt. Brow Rd. Turn left on to Mt. Brow and go 1/4 mile. Look for white rail fence on right. This is the entrance to the winery. Ironstone & several others in downtown Murphy’s. From Jamestown: Head east on Hiway 108 towards Sonora and take the Hiway 49 exit. Stay on Hiway 49 until you meet hiway 4 east in Angel’s Camp. Turn right and continue straight on Hwy 4 to the town of Murphys. Just past the Chevron is a 4-way stop light: turn left onto Big Trees Road. The next 4-way stop sign is Main Street: go straight. The next stop sign is Jones Street: go straight. Continue straight ahead: the road becomes Six Mile Road. Ironstone Vineyards is approximately 1 mile on the right. Things To Do Fun Runs to exercise your Corvette: (Note, for any of these, allow plenty of time to get back to Jamestown by 3pm, depending on how much sightseeing you want to do. I’d say start no later than noon, and 10am would probably be better (this is NOT freeway driving)). - From Jamestown, head south on hiway 108 to O’Byrnes Ferry Road (signal light) go past Lake Tullock to Copperopolis and after looking around, take hiway 4 east through Angel’s Camp to Parrot’s Ferry Road (you may want to continue into Murphy’s and/or Ironstone Vineyards) and turn right, going past New Mellones Reservoir into Columbia. From there, you can either follow the back road to Jamestown or go through Sonora to hiway 108 and back to Jamestown. - From Jamestown, follow hiway 108 through Sonora, past Twain Harte, to Pinecrest Lake (approx 1 hr drive) and enjoy the scenery. If you left early enough, continue on to the Dardanelles Lookout (about 20 minutes more) – fantastic view. - From Jamestown take hiway 108 south past the Yosemite turnoff and past O’Byrne’s Ferry Road to the J59 turnoff (La Grange Road). Follow J59 to hiway 132 and turn left. Follow 132 until you hit hiway 49 and turn left going past Lake Don Pedro and back to hiway 108. Turn right to head back to Jamestown. Cave Exploring: There are two cave attractions fairly close by, but start early if you want to visit one of them. Moaning Caverns: From Stockton, California Take Highway 4 east through Angels Camp to Vallecito. Turn right on Parrotts Ferry Road at the Moaning Cavern sign. Go one mile, then turn right on Moaning Cave Road. Take the road to the end and park in the parking lot. The visitors center is on the right. From Jamestown (approx 32 minutes) Take hiway 108 east towards Sonora. Take the Hiway 49 turnoff through Sonora. When approaching Columbia, turn right on Parrot’s Ferry Road. Follow Parrot’s Ferry Road for approx. 10 miles to Moaning Cave Road and turn left. California Cavern: From Stockton, California Take Highway 4 east to Angels Camp, then Highway 49 north to San Andreas. Take a right turn on Mountain Ranch Road and go approximately 15 minutes (9 miles). Turn right on the 2nd Michel Road turnoff at the California Historical Landmark sign that says "California Caverns." Follow the signs for approximately 2 miles to our driveway on the left. From Jamestown (approx 1 hour drive) Take hiway 108 east towards Sonora. Take the Hiway 49 turnoff through Sonora. Stay on hiway 49, heading towards San Andreas. Just before San Andreas, turn right on Mountain Ranch Road and after 8.3 miles, make a hard right onto Michel Road and then a left onto Cave City road after 0.6 miles. Stay on Cave City Road for about 2 miles to the Cavern.
