Adjustable front roller bracket and support assembly: True rolling contact between lance tube and rollers provides proper positioning and support for smooth operation and even wear; deflection correction available on long travels. High-performance nozzles: Maximum cleaning performance with low steam or air consumption; minimal impact on boiler tubes. Sizes and types matched to application-specific cleaning needs. Dual-sided rack and 16-tooth pinion: Provides alignment and support. Equalizes driving torque and provides optimum lance stability throughout forward and reverse travel of the blower. The 16-tooth pinion minimizes wear and maximizes gear life. Lance tube: One-piece forged flange and tapered shoulder to increase lance tube reliability. Bolt-on lower square bar roller support: Greatly extends the life of several components and is easily replaced with a socket wrench. No grinding or cutting needed; dry film lubricant on retaining bolts eases removal and maintenance. Auxiliary lance and feed tube support (for longer sootblowers): Supports the feed tube while the lance tube is in the boiler and the lance/ feed tubes are at rest. Extends tube life and prevents dead weight loading that would otherwise prematurely wear the feed tube packing. Control box: NEMA 4/4X enclosure suitable for indoor or outdoor service. Box position is located as required by customer. NEMA 4X (fiberglass) is standard; several options are available.. The IK 600® MX sootblower is available with the following options to reduce maintenance costs and provide enhanced sootblower cleaning performance: Diamonized® Feed Tube The Diamonized® feed tube surface is 20 percent harder than chrome, with virtually no potential for cracking. There is no applied coating so there is no possibility for delamination or “orange peel.” This means longer feed tube and packing life, fewer replacements and substantial maintenance cost savings. PowerTrain™ Carriage The PowerTrain™ carriage is a permanently lubricated, maintenance-free carriage that is guaranteed to operate reliably without leakage for many years. Using advanced high-temperature bearings and permanently lubricated with dry gear coatings, this state-of-the-art carriage will accumulate tens of thousands of cycles without any maintenance other than packing changes. It offers the ultimate in longterm reliability and cleanliness. Live-Loaded Gland Live-Loaded Gland (LLG) for feed tube packing maintains uniform, 360-degree compression without frequent manual adjustments, substantially increasing packing life and reducing traditionally high maintenance activity. PowerLink™ Cable Carrier The PowerLink™ cable carrier provides one of several alternate means for supplying power to the traveling motor on the carriage and offers improved reliability under some conditions. EAPC Poppet Valve The Externally Adjustable Pressure Control (EAPC) poppet valve allows the pressure setting to be easily adjusted while the sootblower is online. As with all Diamond Power poppet valves, each is precisely machined and run through a series of hydrostatic tests to ensure an absolutely leak-proof valve. Progressive Helix Mechanism Diamond Power’s patented* Progressive Helix Mechanism (PHM) improves nozzle cleaning coverage by incrementally changing the nozzle path. This precision-geared indexing mechanism precisely shifts the nozzle starting position every cycle for more complete cleaning and reduced tube erosion damage. Gemini™ Sootblower Nozzle This sootblower nozzle delivers maximum cleaning energy from both jets, dramatically improving cleaning performance and/or permitting significant reductions in steam consumption. Operating costs are typically 20 percent lower than for the previous best available nozzle from Diamond Power. Precision Clean® Technology This technology extends the effective cleaning reach of the IK 600® MX sootblower by precisely controlling cleaning jet progression, which matches the dwell time of the jet on deposits located farther from the sootblower. As a result, Precision Clean technology can reduce the frequency of sootblower operations and the adverse effects of tube erosion and can lengthen the period between (cleaning) boiler outages. *U.S. Patent #4,803,959 PowerTrain™, totally enclosed, all geardriven carriage: Reliable and leak-free. Guaranteed. Standard for recovery boiler applications. Full-circulating oil bath, totally enclosed, all geardriven carriage: Full oil bath gives superior lubrication of internal gears. Special seals minimize oil leaks. Live-Loaded Gland for feed tube packing (optional): Graphite foil packing continuously loaded by a highenergy packing gland virtually eliminates steam and condensate leakage. Extends the life of the feed tube and sootblower, as well as the packing itself. Mechanically operated poppet valve: Polished stainless steel feed tube: Heavy wall to resist stress corrosion cracking. Lubrication-free bearing: Minimizes maintenance. Expanda Cable power supply: Simple, proven configura- tion for reliable performance. Removable top cover assembly (shown on front cover):: Protects internal components from falling debris and isolates moving parts for personnel safety. Top cover assembly is easily removed and installed. Caution: Do not operate this or any sootblower without proper covers. Leakproof, flexible seat and disc design prevents distortion from thermal shock. Separate closure and pressure control elements provide longterm stability.
