President’s Letter

Yea, Spring is here! Some of our “Snowbird” members will be returning to Michigan soon.
Welcome back!
I have been contacted by former E-Board members and they have informed me of past actions
which established the procedures to follow related to deceased Club members & their families.
We will discuss this at the April meeting.
We have NOT made our donations to our chosen Charities as the established time frame for donations is in the Summer months. When more of our “Senior” Club members return, we will discuss changing the adopted motion to let us to make our donations at a different time frame.
Lori Pearce has volunteered to handle getting new SHIRTS & jackets with the GVCA logo’s for
the Club. More information to follow.
Our “Spring Trip is starting to be planned, but only myself & Denny Link have signed up to
help plan this event. If anyone else would like to help, please call me.
Our next meeting is on April 14th @ 7:00pm at Kool Chevrolet. E-Board members to meet @
6:30pm.

Board Members Present: Marc Amante, Jill Host, Todd Tamminga and Denny Link sitting in as Secretary for Gail
Schuiling. Jeff Janus is still in Florida.
President’s Report: Mar c called the meeting to or der at 7:00 p.m. with 19 member s and guests.
Marc called for a Moment of Silence in honor of Kevin Smith who recently passed away. [See New Business, April
2nd, for a GVCA get-together for Kevin.]
Secretary’s Report: Denny Link is filling in for Gail tonight. No meetings wer e held in J anuary and Febr uar y.
Gail will return in April.
Treasurer’s Report: J ill gave the Dec. ’15, Jan. ’16 and Feb. ’16 Financial Reports which were approved and seconded.
Membership Report: Todd gave the Member ship Repor t. Cur r ent member ship stands at 105. He intr oduced
guests, Howard and Terri Hansen, who have a ’03 Black Coupe. Welcome!
Competition Report: VP of Comp. position still open. Inter ested in ser ving??
Governor’s Report: Mar c r epor ted that J eff wanted member s to consider chair ing a Michigan Region sanctioned Low-Speed Event, Concours or Rally in 2016. He will be bidding on two 2016 dates very soon.

NEW BUSINESS
Marc reported that the Board decided to make our annual contribution to Spina Bifida and Down Syndrome of
$1,500.00 each. [Upon further review, it was decided to wait until July 2016, which is a year after the 2015
contribution.]
Notice to ALL members chairing a GVCA event: Going forward, receipts are required for expense reimbursement.
Party for Kevin Smith: To be held at Cravens’ shop, 9409 Whitneyville Rd., S.E., 4:00 p.m. til?? BYOB, dish
to pass. Meat will be provided. Bring a birthday card for Helen’s 50th B-day. Call or email Dar Craven if you
can make it.
Late April – Ty wants to do our Annual Corvette Physical Day, about two weeks before the Spring Trip (that is
not yet on the calendar).
Order new Club jackets and shirts: It’s time to freshen up our GVCA wardrobe. Lori Pierce will chair this effort. Info to follow.
NCM Bricks for Kevin Smith and Paul Kissel. Discussion on obtaining bricks for Kevin and Paul. Item was
tabled pending further research on what we’ve done in the past.
