 Introducing NEW multiband filters for fluorescence detection
Available individually or as sets. Each set has 3 multi bandpass filters (excitation, emission,
dichroic), and the “Pinkel” versions of these three new sets contain separate narrow band
excitation filters for selected excitation of each fluorophore.
Multi band pass filters are widely used in fluorescence imaging applications as a means
of rapidly identifying positively labeled multi color samples. The filters are optimized
to provide high transmission, steep edges and deep blocking for balance in contrast,
brightness, and color representation.
All filters are manufactured using Omega Optical’s proprietary MEGALux © optical coating
technology.

High throughput filter set for green and orange emitting fluorophores
such as FITC and TRITC. This set offers excellent contrast and can also
be used with Alexa Fluor® 488, Cy2, and GFP-like fluorescent proteins,
as well as Alexa Fluor®568 and tdTomato.
XF453 is optimized for use with the fluorescent proteins eGFP and
mCherry. This high contrast set utilizes the 577nm Mercury peak for
efficient excitation of red emitting fluorophores and is also compatible
with many other common fluors such as FITC and Texas Red®.

pinkel FILTER sets
Obtaining a high quality image using a black and white CCD camera requires a
different approach. Pinkel filter sets selectively excite one fluorophore in a multi
labeled sample through the use of fluor specific narrow band excitation filters housed
in a filter wheel or slider. These filters are used with a multi band dichroic mirror
and emission filter which remain in the filter holder turret. This design reduces the
spectral bleed-through of the traditional multiband filter set, and minimizes sample
movement by isolating the wheel from the microscope stage.
