JEHOSHUA BROWN FEBRUARY 29, 2016 ACADEMY OF ART MIDPOINT REVIEW table of contents autobiography My love for fashion started in an unlikely event. My aunt took my younger cousin and I to the theater in which my cousin and I decided to see The Devil Wears Prada. I had a vague idea of who Meryl Streep was at the time, at my middle school ripe age, and I remembered Anne Hathaway from "The Princess Diaries." The Devil Wears Prada is the most inspiring movie I have ever seen. I wanted to be Andy, Emily, and Miranda Priestly! The characters were so rounded and I grew to appreciate every nuance about them. When The Devil Wears Prada came out on DVD I bought it immediately. I still have it and watch it at least once a month. It is probably the only movie I can watch over and over again without ever getting tired of it. After undergrad, I decided to continue my education and to focus specifically on my passion. If I ever wanted to be a fashion editor, I had to go fashion journalism school. Finding a school with such a specific progam in the US brought me to Academy of Art. In this program I've found there are many facets to fashion journalism and different roles I can do other than being an editor if I chose. My skills are growing as I learn how to better conduct interviews, do research, as well as use programs like Final Cut Pro and InDesign. 1 timeline SPRING 2014 FSH 616: Dyamics in Fashion Cody Beers FSH 617: Intro to Fashion Journalism Diane Dorrans Saeks FALL 2014 FSH 619: Developments and Current Debates in Fashion Journalism Diane Dorrans Saeks FSH 627: Writing, Researching, and Reporting Features Diane Dorrans Saeks SPRING 2015 COM 602: Editing Essentials for Multimedia Communications Cyrus Tabar FSH 616: Dynamic of Fashion Cody Beers FALL 2015 FSH 626: Digital & Print Magazine Publishing Stephan Rabimov & Nadia Vertlib FSH 641: News & Short Lead Boot Camp Diane Dorrans Saeks SPRING 2016 FSH 629: Fashion Styling Banu Reynolds FSH 630: Fashion Marketing Strategy Margot Urbanowics 3 anticipated graduation FALL 2017 portfolio Exposing Intimates: A Spotlight Turns on Lingerie http://www.unscouted.com/exposing-intimates.html Interview with Lingerie Fashion Week Founder FSH 617 / Diane Dorrans Saeks portfolio Immediacy in Fashion: Is Fashion Moving Too Fast? http://www.unscouted.com/immediacy-in-fashion.html Commentary on the Nowness of Fashion FSH 619 / Diane Dorrans Saeks portfolio Frame to Fit: Models vs. Hangers http://www.unscouted.com/fit-to-frame.html Discussion on Models & Body Figure FSH 619 / Diane Dorrans Saeks portfolio A House on Fire http://www.unscouted.com/house-on-fire.html An Objective Look at an Accomplished Designer FSH 627 / Diane Dorrans Saeks portfolio Bad Gal RiRi http://www.unscouted.com/badgalriri.html Who is Influencial?
