Since I started writing the Newsletter we have had
all the paddocks mowed by the Marion Council.

Below is a poem that I thought is very apt with a
little tweak to suit us.
Volunteer I am
Twenty four hours in every day.
Where can I go to give some away?
For my time is a gift. My experience gold
All I desire….Is a ( Lead ) to hold.
A tear to wipe, a child to soothe
A fellow volunteer to comfort when blue
A horsey mate to lead through the day
There ’ s no need to strike up a band
For I rarely seek out the fanfare of man
I simply have time to give away
To help those in need to brighten up their day
For my time is my own, I give it for free
A volunteer I am ,a volunteer I will be.

Deb donated her time and skills on Wednesday

with our horses and children.
Deb has endeavoured to catch some good shots
that have been used on our new mobile poster.
This is to be used at venues in the future .One of
the posters has been donated by RDA

The other 2 posters hopefully from a grant with
Marion Council, thank you to Tricia Clement our
Secretary and Lyn Wainwright for their work involved.
Whilst the students are waiting for their ride in the
bus stop we are looking at setting up a horse trail
ride with wooden mini horses ,hoping to have this
up and running by term 1 next year. There is a
metal message board already positioned to use.
We would like to thank Garry Foggarty for his timecreating the horses along with his ideas.
Tricia Clement has been nominated for a Volunteers Award for National Volunteer ’ s Week

best Tricia.
There is a grant currently with the Premier;s Dept
for which we are awaiting results for new kitchen
cupboards.
The Horse Sick Bay is now up and running, much
to Nikki ’ s disgust as he is on a Jenny Craig diet
and has spent some time in there.
He ’ s back there again keeping Sam company as
Sam is having treatment for his hoof, maybe Nikki
will be so slim he will end up being our pin up boy,

Fund Raising
As some of you may be aware we have
the Southern Expressway upgrading going
on next to us. Through our Treasurer John
Dicker and Management with Environment/Community arranged a barbecue
lunch for all the men from one end of the
expressway to the other in shifts.
The money that was raised by the workers
was donated to O ’ Halloran Hill Centre,
There was a good attendance of stalls
and visitors ,very worth while after an
early start that morning.!!!!
We sold an array of goods from jewellery that had been donated to Ann .
.Christmas Cards and assorted Cards,
,Anzac Biscuits,Melting Moments and
Macaroons made by Lyn and Ginnie .
Lyns very yummy Marmalade and of
course our Posh Pony Poo, but not all
on the table together.
We raised $300.00 our first record
for a 1 days market.
The Brighton School Market open from 8
am to 12 noon again is a success with the
sales of plants ,biscuits, marmalade, cards
and our now famous Posh Pony Poo .We
have attended 3 up to date and without
Lyn's enthusiasm of joining the very early
line up we would not have been able to
raise the amount up to date.
THE GIRLS AT ROTARY FAIR BLACKWOOD 2012
Ann Grear attends a stall at Marion Market
off Sturt Rd opposite the Council Chambers ,if in the area please look her up as
she will be happy to see you, maybe you
could offer her a break
On Sunday 11th November we had a
stall for our centre at Rotary Blackwood Xmas Fair held at Karyina Reserve Eden Hills .
Ann Grear has attended most years in
the past. This time Ginnie Thompson
and myself were able to give Ann a
hand .
Riders News
Follow up to Jean Louis story he has now
taken part in a scheduled class and continuing very well.
We have a new student riding on Wednesday ,welcome Tiahnee who rides and
adores Kahlua, she has a very l- - - ong
hug with him.
Saturday classes (coach Bill) are a great
success with 4 new students Kerri-anne,
Faith, Jacob and Thomas .
The majority of volunteers are teenagers
and young adults with the help of Ginnie
and Jude.
I received this georgeous photo via e-mail .If I remember correctly it is in a civic centre in a European City.I
would like too share it with you ,wouldn't it look great
in Victoria Square !!
The next tasks will be to gyprock the remaining areas of
the building and hopefully Target Group will continue
to help us next year. We should be able to order some
more gyprock soon.
Another small task will be to install monitored security
alarms and we are now reviewing our priorities which
will include consideration of installing a front gate and
perhaps better fencing on the Majors Road boundary.
The Arena
We are indeed very fortunate to be the recipients of the
incredible generosity of Baulderstone’s and the Abbe
Group from the Southern Expressway project. Without
their help we would be a long way off in regards to an
indoor arena. It is not just the preparation of the arena
surface – there is much work to be done regarding site
levelling, storm water drainage and roads for proper access around the hay shed and arena area.
Progress Report on Property Development November 2012
In a few weeks time we hope to see the final levelling of
the arena area and the laying of the base materials for
the arena surface. We can then put down the top surface materials to complete the job.
Administration Building
As you would all have seen, the Target Group continue
to make progress with the gyprock installation. Our immediate goals are to finish the kitchen and disabled toi- As you are all aware we were fortunate to receive a
