“PASTOR PAUL’S PARAGRAPHS”
Dear Members and Friends of Sweetwater Baptist Church:
Blessings!! We ar e all cer tainly excited about our futur e sanctuar y and educational facility. As
we begin the building process, it is important that we be reminded that the church is not a building, but a body
(1 Corinthians 12:12). A building is only a meeting place for the members to assemble. It is truly a privilege
and an honor to be a part of the Body of Christ and a member of the Sweetwater Baptist Church. We all
should be grateful and appreciative of our church membership. Recently, I completed a series of sermons on
Sunday evenings based on the book, I Am A Church Member, by Thom Rainer. He is the president and CEO
of Lifeway Christian Resources. This was an important and critical study. During this series, we examined
six attitudes that every church member should have about their church. I want to remind you of these essential attitudes that all of us should possess as we anticipate moving forward in the building process. They are
as follows:
Attitude #1 – I Will Be a Functioning Church Member.
Attitude #2 – I Will Be a Unifying Church Member.
Attitude #3 – I Will Not Let My Church Be About My Preferences and Desires.
Attitude #4 – I Will Pray for My Church Leaders.
Attitude #5 – I Will Lead My Family to Be Healthy Church Members.
Attitude #6 – I Will Treasure Church Membership as a Gift.
Let’s make Sweetwater the best church that it can be by being the best church members that we can be.
A church is only as strong as its weakest link. Let’s strive to be the strongest link that we can be in the membership chain at the Sweetwater Baptist Church.
It is a privilege and a joy to serve you!!
With a Pastor’s Love,
Brother Paul
