this station will provide power for approximately
100,000 homes. That's quite a project in the depths of
the Jungle. Bob, keep safe!
In May and June, Bob and Kim Daly celebrated their
35th Wedding Anniversary with a trip to Rome, Italy.
Wonder if they threw a coin in the fountain?
Don and Marlene Hart spent the latter part of July in
Seattle, Washington, This trip was two-fold -- to
celebrate their wedding anniversary and to visit their
nephew.
Rachel Morrison just returned from a 5-day combined
business and pleasure trip to N.Y. for the 75th
Anniversary Gala for the Doncaster Design line of
Ladies Apparel (the Company Rachel worked for).
Daughter Rebecca and Granddaughter Reagan
accompanied her and they attended some Broadway
Shows, enjoyed fabulous food, shopping and the
Metropolitan Museum of Arts.
In July, Jim and June Mindrup went to Alton, Illinois for the funeral of Jim's niece's husband. They
drove 1200 miles in two days!! Then on August 3rd,
Jim Mindrup underwent surgery at St. Joseph's Hospi-
tal. Along with the gallblatter, a huge gallstone was
removed. Ever thoughtful Jim gave the stone to June
with the promise to have it set in a ring. Oh Joy!

Jaguar to be Sold?
By Alan Talbott, President
A
s many of you are already aware Toyota
surpassed Ford last month to press its assault on
becoming the largest car company in the world.
Even though this was expected news it still shook
Detroit and, of course, Ford owns Jaguar. American
companies have 52% of the domestic market but the
competition is relentless so Ford is reviewing its
strategy to fight back. Unfortunately some of the
strategic moves may come in the form of selling
Jaguar. Ford’s Premier Group consists of Land
Rover, Jaguar, Volvo and Aston Martin.
This group lost $162MM in the second quarter of
this year. Kenneth Leet, formerly with Goldman
Sachs, is an investment banker with a formidable
background in sales and mergers. His job is to save,
sell or form alliances that will shore up Fords luxury
division.
This move, of course, has started the rumor mill going about a sale so stay tuned for news about an ever
evolving market. Hopefully, Mr. Leet will sort things
out in Jaguars favor.
As a side note, our domestic auto sales breaks down
market share as follows:
GM
Toyota
Ford
Chrysler
Honda
