ECP American Steel, LLC is the parent company of American Wire Rope and Sling (AWRS) and its other
divisions. Through its start with AWRS, ECP American Steel, LLC has roots going back to 1933 when we began
proudly serving Indiana’s professional contractors and manufacturers by providing quality, name brand products
for the rigging industry. Over the years, AWRS is proud to have become one of Indiana’s largest rigging houses.
AWRS has grown from its original home in Fort Wayne to include branches in Indianapolis and Mishawaka.
Since then, ECP American Steel, LLC decided that it could strengthen the quality and diversity of services provided to customers by acquiring three additional businesses located in Fort Wayne, IN. In 2010 we purchased: Materials Handling Equipment (MHE), a full-service crane company; Fort Wayne Materials Handling,
LLC (MHE-Forklift), a complete material handling service provider and distributor; and Fort Wayne Structural
Products (FWSP), a specialized design and fabrication shop, which contained a Engineered Products division.
Continuing to look for more ways to meet the needs of our customers, in 2011 ECP American Steel, LLC opened
American Rigging Rental (ARR). ARR is a rental company located in Indianapolis, IN that compliments our core
business by allowing us to provide a full line of rigging and materials handling equipment for rent.
The ECP American Steel, LLC family now operates in over 70,000 square feet and employs approximately
90 people. The following time-line shows where we have come from and where we are headed.
1946 - Opened our Fort Wayne, IN location.
1975 - Opened our Indianapolis, IN location.
1999 - Opened our Mishawaka, IN location.
2010 - Acquired Materials Handling Equipment.
2010 - Acquired Fort Wayne Materials Handling, LLC.
2010 - Acquired Fort Wayne Structural Steel.
2011 - Created a rental division, American Rigging Rental.
2011 - Created a engineering division, Engineered Products, LLC.
Over the years we have been the first in Indiana to: Manufacture Single-Path & Twin-Path® Round Slings.
Manufacture and private label our own line of nylon & polyester web slings. Manufacture SLINGMAX® High
Performance Fiber (HPF) Slings and other products. Patented a load leveling device & HPF Bridle Slings. Implement electronic sling inspections. Operate 6 wire rope swaggers. Operate 5 test beds including the largest in
Indiana. Operate 12 sewing machines. Operate 2 Round sling machines.
We are the only Indiana rigging house to be a member of the Associated Wire Rope Fabricators (AWRF)
and the Web Sling & Tie-Down Association (WSTDA). Both groups have member companies from around the
world.

For over thirty years Fort Wayne Structural Products (FWSP) has been building simple and complex
structures and providing steel building products and fabrications. In 2010 Fort Wayne Structural Products
joined the ECP American Steel, LLC family further expanding our family of products and services.. Several of
our current employees have over thirty years of experience in the steel fabrication business. These top-notch
team members are the backbone that makes Fort Wayne Structural Products a leading specialty steel contractor.
We have built and shipped 180’ clear span trusses in 3 part sections, 101’ clear span single member
trusses, 16’ long decorative pipe trusses, 210’ tall towers in sections, countless other structural framing members
of all sizes. We fabricate straight stairs, curved stairs, and railings. All of our welders are tested and certified to
American Welding Society D1.1 standards. All shop employees are trained to operate specified machinery for
safety and quality. We use precision CNC equipment for accuracy in material preparation. We use SDS/2, a 3-D
modeling system, for making shop drawings.
