Our September 10th dance featured the
music of Ed Amrein and a waltz dance
lesson provided by Larry May. As with
our August dance, we had a dance competition at 9 pm. Our waltz winners were
Jonathan and Ingrid White from Columbus (1st), Mike and Sue Gilkey from
Cincinnati (2nd), and Tatyana Curtis and Dennis Dunn (3rd).
Our next dance at Arbor Hall will be Saturday, October 8,
2016 at 7:30 pm. Tony Rimkus will provide the music. Shay
Rebollo will teach a Bachata lesson from 7:30 till 8:15 pm.
Parents and grandparents please bring your children and/or
grandchildren to this dance. Children (ages 10 to 18 years
old) will be admitted free with a paying adult. The children
will enjoy the Bachata lesson, line dances, and will get a
great introduction to ballroom dancing.
If you would like to participate in a board meeting, Dance
(tonians) meets each month on the Tuesday before our dance
at MCL Cafeteria in Kettering at 6:00 pm. Contact Linda
Shapiro for more information.

Lesson in Bachata
Taught by Shay Rebollo
.
Shay Rebollo was born in the “Big Apple” where she studied ballet for 6 years at “The City Ballet”. Later she continued her training at Dance Exposure, a family owned studio in New Jersey. After moving to Dayton, Shay performed with Rhythm and Shoes
and the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company for one year. She
taught as a professional ballroom instructor at Always Ballroom
Dance Studio.
Shay is well known for her Salsa and Bachata dance instruction
but she also teaches all styles of smooth and rhythm dances. She is
certified in DVIDA (Dance Vision Int’l Dance Association) and
has trained with many well-known coaches to add to her diverse
dance knowledge. Shay’s philosophy is: “it’s not just how you
look, but how you feel on the dance floor.” Her students find her
charismatic and a pleasure to work with her. Shay teaches at Elegance in Dance. Contact Shay directly for information about her
