Summer 2016 Camp Descriptions
June 21st – August 5th 2016
Enrollment begins February 22nd
Summers at Montecito are full of imaginative summer fun! If your child is a terrific two, thrilling three, or
fantastic four, he or she will enjoy activities & lessons based on our school-wide themes in our preschool classes.
In addition, our Cool Campers (Ages 3-5 and K-5th) will enjoy activities & lessons inspired by the camps named
below. Fees for our weekly camps are $240 for each week and $480 for our fun filled 2-week Music & Magic camp.
Weeks 1 & 2: June 21st- July 1st
Great Outdoors
Green Gardeners (June 21 – 24) AND Curious Campers (June 27 - July 1)
(No school Monday, June 20th for Teacher Work Day)
Join us for a two-week outdoor adventure experiencing the wonders of the
natural world. Activities in these camps will include adventures in gardening,
camping, nature walks, bug hunts, conservation, engaging with animals, acting,
role-playing, dancing, and sports. Summer is the perfect time to awaken your
child's mind to the marvels of the natural world, experience our bodies in motion outdoors, engage with nature, and
to discover our imaginations through movement and exploration!
Weeks 3: July 4th - July 8th
Adventures in Art
Creative Cooks (July 4-July 8)
(No school Monday, July 4th for Independence Day holiday)
A handful of clay, a brush-full of paint, some fabric and glue. Activities in
this camp include cooking & art with food, painting (using a variety of implements),
sculpting, sewing, creating collages, jewelry making, building with wood, PVC pipe and
other natural materials, and discovering art found in nature. What a great opportunity
for your child to be creative, innovative, and let his/her imagination run wild!
Weeks 4 & 5: July 11th - July 22nd
Gadgets & Goop
Space Scientists (July 11-15) AND Natural Explorers (July 18-22)
Measure, pour, stir, count, sort, discover & observe. Be a scientist and explore
the unexpected. For these two weeks, your child will take part in a variety of
experiments such as cooking, measuring, counting, sorting, size variations,
making invisible ink, causing objects to fly, sink and float, or creating volcanoes
- to name just a few. All of these activities are designed to stimulate your child’s curiosity, mathematical and
critical thinking, self-discovery and sense of wonder!
July 25th - August 5th
At the end of summer, children will look forward to two weeks of being delighted with musical and magical
adventures with this popular camp taught by Teacher Phillip. Campers will take the "magician's oath," learn about
magic, and create their own magic tricks and musical instruments that they will use in a dazzling performance at
the end of camp. Come to enjoy & perform with us!
