It is being held on 19th May 2013 at 2.00 for 2.30 pm in Littleton Memorial Hall at Littleton, SO22 6QL. 2. News from the Branch * Fundraising The Tin Collection in Winchester High Street . What a superb effort. It raised £646.00. Well done all who were collectors, and to Peter Hazelgrove and Hilary Lawrence. It promises to be a fun time for everyone, with high tea (cakes etc), music, quizzes and a Presentation by Debra Carter, of the booklet she has put together. It contains the memories of MS members, and the branch activities from when the branch first opened to present day: 1977/78 – 2013. ( * Tips for all future collectors from Emrys Harries: “I chose a part of the High Street where I could be seen from both sides, and from a long way off -­‐ no market stalls or crowds in the way -­‐ on my scooter with an 'MS' balloon bouncing in the breeze. branch Winchester & District MS Branch Newsletter -­‐ May 2013 moved to make sure I was in the sunshine because it was cold, and to make me easier to spot. Nobody could miss me. The collection boxes have 'MS' in two places in BIG letters. I made sure that the 'MS' always faced up and down the street, rather than towards me and the opposite shop window. I found that people really wanted to give to MS, and the sooner they knew about me, the easier it was for them to decide to get their money out. All except for one lovely lady, who had no money -­‐ she gave me a Malteser instead! Perhaps it really is all about luck, but I found that the more cheerful I looked, and the more I engaged with people, the luckier I got... “ * Bettina Tutt Sadly I have just been told that Bettina Tutt has died. She was well known by many of the members of the Winchester MS Branch. Our deepest sympathies go to Brian, her husband , and her family. 3. The 36th Annual(G) Meeting of the Winchester & District MS Branch The Annual Meeting of the Branch is to be held on 19th May 2013 at 4.00 pm, in the Littleton Memorial Hall at Littleton. The funeral will be held on Thursday 9th May at the Basingstoke Crematorium at 11.45 am. The family have asked for family flowers only . Donations can be given for the MS Society.
