3.4%. While Tupelo/Lee County has the fourth-largest labor force in the state,

Workforce Development is an integral part of future development activities. In working with area businesses
and industries, K-12 schools, community colleges, and universities, CDF provides a key link to workforce training
resources and opportunities. The CDF employs a full time workforce development professional who works
with company officials to secure employee training needs and act as a key link to all available resources.
The Community Development Foundation has successfully partnered with Itawamba Community College to
train thousands of local business and industry employees. This demand-driven training utilizes the consor
tium method to ensure low cost and high impact. Ongoing training is vital to the success of area companies
