The construction o f the new Hotel Port'Coquitlam is
well under way in Port Coquitlam. The new hotel is
being’ built at n cost o f about $245,000. W hen it is
completed it will be three storeys high, and will be
the largest building in the Shaughnessy street business
area. The new building will open in m id-April. .

other government departments as well
a s a post office, did not m eet with suc­
cess, partially because the city is located
so close to New Westminster where these
o ffice s are already established.
But the city population has increased
about 25 percent in these five years.
W ith the increase continuing at the
same rate, the form er objection m ay be
overruled. However, evfen optim istically
