Camarillo, California. 1978. That’s when it started. That’s when we
started to defy convention. To change the humble bike to suit our

find a very exciting place to exist. We’ve been in that place for over

and, whichever style of bike we’ve turned our hand to, they’ve
remained at the core of the company ever since.
That ethos informs each and every one of our product decisions
and is ingrained in each and every one of the riders representing
Diamondback.

Because we love riding bikes and pushing those bikes and our

ALL MOUNTAIN EQUIPPED
For us riders here in Europe, we needed a 27.5” hard tail offering
that was a little bit more capable.
TAPERED HEAD TUBE
Enter the Myers all mountain hard tail. This rig is slack and low
slung - meant for today’s shredder who wants to pedal up but
charge down with aggressiveness.Running long travel forks places
extra stress on the head tube, to combat this we use a tapered head
tube, with 1.5” bearings on the lower cup and 11/8” on the upper to
keep the weight down.
Keeping the rear end stiff and making it a breeze to change the
rear wheel fast, all Myer’s models feature a 142x12mm rear axle.
Combined with this, we’ve also built a replaceable derailleur hanger
into the dropout. We’ve dropped the chain stays to be lower in
position, which avoids chain slap on rugged descents, and prevents
the chain from damaging the chain stay material, and possibly the
chain itself.
DROP STAYS
All Myers frames are equipped with the facility to run a stealth
dropper post, extra guides are positioned under the down tube and
a cable opening placed strategically on the back of the seat tube.
Although 1x drive is be coming more popular, some riders still
prefer to run traditional chain guides, so to accommodate this we’ve
included ISCG5 mounts on all Myers as standard.

The Myers 3.0 all mountain 27.5” hardtail is the gravity oriented
all mountain rider’s dream machine. When we set out, we wanted
a bike which takes us back to why we loved mountain biking
originally; fun! The Myers is a bike which is at home tearing down a
hill side run, or ripping through the single track at a trail center.
All of the Myers range features an all mountain 6061-T6 enduro
grade aluminum frame with a formed top tube, a formed and
butted down tube, tapered head tube, stealth dropper post
ready, ISCG5 tabs and a 142×12mm Maxle drop out as standard.
Through the range we use RockShox suspension forks, different
levels of SRAM drivetrain and steering is controlled by Race Face.

Diamondback’s carbon Lumis series is one example. It offers
breathtaking aesthetics married with exceptional performance. For
2015, through months of testing, analysis and design, we’ve developed
a platform for the finest riders in the world - and made it accessible
to the weekend warrior. We continually strive to make an incredible
product, better. That is the Diamondback design philosophy.
The Diamondback Lumis series frame is handmade using our
Advanced Carbon Monocoque Design process (ACMD). ACMD
ensures that each piece of carbon ply is laid precisely where our
engineers want it, by using several different grades of material,
layed in the right places, we have created a frame which is light but
also stiff. An optimized resin compound is used to bind the carbon
fibres together with precision alignment during the heating process.
Using too much resin makes a frame feel heavy and sluggish. Too
little resin can result in fibre separation and frame failure. Optimizing
our resin-to-fibre ratio allows us to enhance our ratio of material
weight-to-strength. The result is an exceptionally light weight,
impact-resistant frame, the Lumis frame weighs in at just 1150g.

are proud to introduce the next level of Diamondback 27.5” supremacy
with the Lumis carbon series. These XC trail race-ready dream
machines are dialed from top to bottom and carry a look so sinister

The carbon Lumis incorporates our proprietary advanced
monocoque molding process using the highest-grade carbon,
constructed in the most precise manner, to produce a world-class
racing machine. The geometry is spot on; the ever so sloping top tube
provides ample stand over clearance and a 70° head tube angle and a
73° seat tube angle create the perfect XC/trail geometry.

While this is an ongoing debate amongst the masses, there are notable
benefits to the 27.5” wheel that continue to contribute to its growing
popularity. Lower rolling resistance and better traction giving you a
smoother ride similar to that of the 29”, but with less geometry and
suspension travel limitations, or toe clearance concerns.
During the design process of our 27.5” models we set out to make
a range of bikes that would be able to be ridden in the wettest
European climate, so plenty of mud clearance was essential.
ANGLE OF ATTACK
Smoother ride than a 26” wheel and greater
torsional stiffness and durability than a 29” wheel
for more extreme riding.
MOMENTUM
Lower rolling resistance and better traction giving
you a smoother ride similar to that of the 29”.
Acceleration
The tubing profile we’ve used for the top tube and down tube
have been hydrofomed to offer ultra-sleek yet simple lines, with
uncompromised strength and a unique style like only we know how.
Also by double butting these tubes, we can take weight out of the
bike, creating a more responsive ride when you’re out on the trails.
In the end you have a smoother ride than a 26” wheel and greater
torsional stiffness than a 29” wheel.

There’s no denying the rock crawling, root crushing power of a
larger diameter wheel. Making the largest of obstacles the smallest
of matters is a defining trait of these muddy beasts. By offering
decreased rolling resistance, increased traction when cornering
and improved ground clearance, one ride upon one of the massive
behemoths is sure to sway even the staunchest skeptic.
During the design process of our 29” hard tail frame we set out to
make a bike that would be able to be ridden in the wettest European
climate, so plenty of mud clearance was essential.
ANGLE OF ATTACK
Larger wheels decrease your angle of attack by
allowing you to roll over obstacles easier and
faster. Bigger wheel equals smaller obstacle.
MOMENTUM
A larger wheel enables you to carry momentum
easier though obstacles.
SURFACE CONTACT
29” wheels are less prone to sinking in soft
material such as sand and mud due to the
larger contact patch causing lower ground
pressure. The longer contact patch increases
cornering and straight line traction.

MISSION 27.5” TECHNOLOGY
For 2015, the game is changing. We are now entering what we
are calling the KnuckleBox Migration. What this means is that
we have refined the platform to leverage even more performance
from our proven KnuckleBox design. We did this by shifting all the
suspension components forward in the frame. This increased the
travel to 160mm and made room for the fast rolling / nimble 27.5”
wheels. A newly designed and inverted KnuckleBox linkage and
our proprietary single sided hardware round out our signature all
mountain full suspension ride!
The KnuckleBox, or bell crank, is the core of our single-pivot fourbar suspension platform. Optimally placed pivots equate to a low
leverage ratio, and ultimately to superior pedaling efficiency and
small-bump compliance. This also allows the shock to work more
efficiently, reduces pedal induced motion and reduces overall load
on the system which will lead to improved shock and bearing life.
Placing the KnuckleBox low within the frame situates the greatest
weight of the bike closer to the bottom bracket, which lowers the
bike’s center of gravity and allows it to track and corner better.
Wheel-rate is a significant aspect of any suspension system - this
is the effective spring-rate when measured at the wheel. A benefit
of our four-bar linkage is increased control over the wheel-rate.
Obtaining the spring-rate curves in shocks from Fox is necessary to
allowing us to determine the wheel-rate.
Working closely with Fox, we’re able to optimize the wheel-rate
to be linear-to-slightly progressive. This results in superb smallbump compliance, more perceived travel and excellent bottom-out
protection. For this application we’ve chosen to run a 160mm Fox
Float X CTD w/ Trail Adjust Air Shock. The Float X is specifically
designed for aggressive all mountain riding and the CTD (Climb,
Descend, Trail) offers a wide range of compression dampening.
Overall, the Float X provides a feeling of endless travel and
plushness like that of a downhill rig, but with pedaling efficiency of
an XC machine.

The 2015 Diamondback Contra CX is the perfect embodiment of
everything you want from a cyclocross bike. It’s well-equipped to
tackle any street, single track, mud field, sand pit, staircase, hurdle
or inclement weather between the starting gate and the finish line
or home and the office. At the core is a double Butted 6061 alloy
competition grade frame with formed tubes and an integrated head
tube. The frame is light and durable, something that we look for in
a cross bike, and the formed top tube features a flat bottom for easy
portage over any hurdle. Paired with the frame is a carbon fork which

DUAL SPORT
Purchasing the right off-road bike or commuting bike can be a
conundrum; especially if the terrain you need to cover requires
the utility of both. Enter Diamondback’s Contra Series Dual Sport
bikes.
This dual sport range of bikes gives you the necessary tools to ride
rugged dirt trails off-road while still employing the goods for a
smooth riding, easy commute on the paved path.
With mountain bike-like geometry and the efficiency of larger 700c
diameter wheels, these bikes are ready for pavement, then dirt, and
back again. Semi-knobby tires provide great traction on dirt or
gravel yet reduces rolling resistance
All Contra feature a 6061-T6 Aluminum Dual Sport frame with
formed top and down tubes, forged drop outs, and an integrated
lock mount under the seat stays.
We’ve also included full fittings for adding mudguards and carriers,

Bicycle Moto Cross, or BMX as its better known has been at the
heart of Diamondback since our creation in 1978.
A BMX bike is your ticket to freedom. You can explore the streets,
shred the local skatepark, or run a train through the trails with buddies.
With all our bikes, we’ve designed them using the best materials
and components available, using 4130 Cr-Mo tubing where others
use lesser 1020 hi-tensile steel, Alienation rims, and from Odyssey
tyre’s and pedals.
Since 1978, Diamondback has had that spirit. Bunny hops have
turned into triple tail whips and racing is an Olympic sport.
Our frames, our logos and our riders may have changed but our
commitment and dedication to building the best BMX bikes of the
