Electronic Press Kit - Stringtown Ambassadors
Electronic Press Kit
The Stringtown Ambassadors got their start
playing for tips on the streets of Asheville,
North Carolina, drawing in listeners with their
contemporary interpretations of Irish and
Appalachian folk music. The duo is made up of
Arlo Blaisus on mandolin and vocals, and
Rosalind Parducci on fiddle and vocals. They
cowrite much of their music, and bring
influences of jazz and newgrass into both their
original compositions and their arrangements
of traditional tunes.
The Ambassadors' core belief is that music
cannot simply be recited, but must be lived.
Their music ignites and transforms, creates
movement and wakes even the slowest
afternoon coffeehouse into a dance floor. The
Ambassadors' melodies are fresh and experimental, yet true to their traditional
roots; they seamlessly blend irish rhythms with jazz improv, appalachian spirit with
jamband groove. While experimentation is the spice, the heart of their music is a
downtoearth desire to connect to other people and to share their inspiration with
listeners hither and yon.
The duo spent most of 2014 touring the country in support of their debut self
produced album, Bilateral Achord, performing for audiences in 19 states and one
Canadian Province. Notable appearances include: the Lake Eden Arts Festival and
Pisgah Brewing Company in Asheville NC, the Radio Bean Coffeehouse in
Burlington VT, The Planet Mind Stage in Nedderland CO, Picking in the Pines
Bluegrass Festival in Flagstaff AZ, and The Frog and Peach in San Luis Obispo CA.
Upcoming shows are scheduled accross the west coast and beyond.
