Vice President and General
Manager’s MESSAGE
Fellow Employees,
Last year was a challenging
year; thank you for your effort, energy, resilience and
commitment.
As we start this new year
with greater clarity, a greater determination to succeed
and a renewed commitment
to provide exceptional customer service, we ask just
one thing from each of you –
be BETTER.

Newsletter—Issue 1
Be better in your work –
think creatively, efficiently and get the details right.
• Be better with our customers – in how you prepare, how you communicate and how you add
value.
• Be better with your
teammates – in how you
support each other, how
you communicate and
how you care about
them as people.
• Be better in your
community – in how you
give of your time and
effort to make your
town, city or neighborhood a great place to
live.
• Be better with our
planet – in how you recycle, minimize your
footprint, and how you
appreciate the natural
beauty around us.
• Be better in your relationships out of the
office – in how you
communicate, encourage and support.
• Be better to yourself
– in your self-talk, in
your personal expectations and in your commitment to being all
that you can be. Be
more thankful.
You control how you approach your days in and out
of the office. Commit to
being better every day.
Learn more. Be more responsive. Be more connected. Be more aware. Be
tougher. Be more resilient.
Be more creative. Be more
present. Just be better.
I would like to personally
THANK everyone for their
contribution towards Grimshaw’s continued success.
2016 will prove to be a
challenging year but collectively I know we will have a
Productive, Safe and Successful year.
Regards,
Gary Leddy

Distracted Driving Law in Effect
Effective January 1, 2016 the penalty
for distracted driving in Alberta will
be a $287 fine and three demerit
points. The law applies to all motor
vehicles as defined by the Traffic
Safety Act. It restricts drivers
from:


using hand-held cell phones
texting or e-mailing (even when
stopped at red lights)

using electronic devices like laptop computers, video games, cameras,
video entertainment displays and pro-
personal grooming (brushing and
flossing teeth, putting on makeup,
curling hair, clipping nails or shaving)
The law applies to all roads in Alberta. Tickets for distracted driving are
issued to the driver of the vehicle
gramming portable audio players (e.g.,
MP3 players)


entering information on GPS units

writing, printing or sketching
reading printed materials in the
vehicle

Canada Revenue Agency announces
maximum pensionable earnings for
2016. The Canada Revenue Agency
announced today that the maximum
pensionable earnings under the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) for 2016 will be
$54,900—up from $53,600 in 2015.
The new ceiling was calculated according to a CPP legislated formula
that takes into account the growth in
average weekly wages and salaries in
Canada. Contributors who earn more
than $54,900 in 2016 are not required or permitted to make additional contributions to the CPP. The basic
exemption amount for 2016 remains
$3,500. The employee and employer
contribution rates for 2016 will remain unchanged at 4.95%, and the
self-employed contribution rate will
remain unchanged at 9.9%. The maxi-
mum employer and employee contribution to the plan for 2016 will be
$2,544.30 each and the maximum
self-employed contribution will be
$5,088.60. The maximums in 2015
were $2,479.95 and $4,959.90.

Another accomplishment is our Online Order Entry for pickups on our Website! We currently have
two customers using this regularly. This may not seem like a lot, but this is huge step for us. We are
going to continue to market this and are open to any ideas you may have on getting our customers to

Grande Cache
This is Rick Lee's ( Grimshaw
Trucking) new home in Grande
Cache which is on a shared facility with our sister company
Majestic Oilfield.
This facility makes it so our
people in Grande Cache can now
load and unload freight inside
the tent out of the elements
and we no longer lease a poorly
suited building for our needs.
On the Road to Quality
We successfully had 171 employees
attended the On the Road to Quality
Training. Through your commitment
to training we were able to achieve
our Corporate Goal last year .
Thank you to all our trainers (Shirley
Mcdonald, Olga Genovey, Amanda
Shipalesky and Jessica Langford) for
your passion to teach and for sharing
your knowledge to our employees.

Winter Road Project
Congratulations Grimshaw Trucking
for being awarded work on the Ice
Road again this year.
Since 1888, De Beers has been involved in all aspects of the diamond
business. From its mining operations
across Africa, and most recently Canada, the company produces about 35
per cent of the world’s supply of
rough diamonds.
De Beers has been active in Canada
for nearly 50 years, growing from a
small group of geologists in the field
to having multiple offices and operations across the country. De Beers
has two producing mines, one ad-
vanced exploration project and a targeted exploration strategy within
Canada. Metshaw Freighters has successfully secured the majority of the
transportation work for the GahCho
Kue Mine for the 2015 – 2016 season.
