the delegate’s convention “thoughts”!
We have many members and associates working on our big Round-up fundraiser on

Pulled Pork Loin with rolls, sauce, pickles and onions; Beef Empanadas, Chicken Tacos,
Salsa; Hot Spinach dip, mini eggrolls with dipping sauce; and assorted bar cookies.
Drinks will include iced tea, beer and wine. We have some great auction items, such as: 3

Night Out for 10 (including wine/hors d’oeuvres, shampoo, blow dry and style, and rejuvenating hand treatments), Zoom Teeth Whitening System, books, jewelry, hand crotched

GCRW WAS WELL REPRESENTED AT THE CONFERENCE IN SAN ANTONIO IN
OCTOBER! Thank you for attending…
Brenda Bloch, Sue Burden, Barbara Durham, Kelly Follis, Robin Walker
“What a wonderful experience meeting with 800 liked minded Texas
Republican Women! It was also fun to meet 40 politicians and
candidates such as George P. Bush, Joe Straus, David Dewhurst, Jerry
Patterson and many more. We heard interesting speakers such as
Susana Martinez, Governor of New Mexico and US Senator Ted Cruz.
Educational opportunities provided were workshops entitled, Inclusion:
A road Map to the Next Election and U.S. Tax Policy and Obamacare:
How YOU are Affected. Don’t miss the next TFRW convention in
2015 in Lubbock!”
Brenda Bloch
“Thank you GCRW for choosing me to be one of your delegates to the 2013 TFRW Convention in San Antonio Oct. 17-19. I have been a delegate to many Republican Conventions and I must say this was the best, most
organized, informative, and well planned convention I have ever attended. My heartfelt “thanks” go out to
TFRW for the 2013 convention. Of course it was fun filled also, and my 2 roommates, Kelly Follis and Brenda Bloch, was the “icing on the cake”. Now we must do everything we can to “Keep Texas Red”!!!! “
Barbara Durham
“I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the TFRW Conference recently. Hearing many Candidates speak so
passionately and enthusiastically about their decision to run was inspiring and confirmed to me the importance
of the role we, as Republican Women, can play in supporting our candidates during their campaign process.
The Campaign Management School was a very intense 7 hours, during which I learned so much. There were
many people there who were contemplating running for office, and also people like me who wanted to learn
how to effectively be a support person for a candidate. Many subjects were covered, including finances,
marketing, office management, time management, speech writing and delivery, recruiting and retaining
effective volunteers, etc. I have a huge binder for reference and I know I will use it! This was time very well
spent, and I encourage anyone running for office, or anyone who wants to help with a campaign, to take this
course. Contact TFRW for dates and times. LETS KEEP TEXAS RED!! “ Sue Burden
“I have been to 3 Texas Federation of Republican Women bi-annual conventions and they just keep getting
better. The highlight for me, besides praying in God's power with all of those people present, while standing
beside Ted Cruz was listening to Senator Cruz and the amazing reception that he got because that means that
our our Republican ladies are unified!) I thoroughly enjoyed Governor Martinez of New Mexico. Common
sense, no nonsense solutions that both Republicans and Democrats can embrace. Finally, I loved being there
with my boss, the incomparable Senator Dr. Donna Campbell!” Kelly Follis
