y name is Gale A. Tull your new Community Association Manager. Some of you
have already met me and I look forward to meeting and working with each and every
one of you.
A little about me: I am original from Trinidad, lived in New York
settled in PA now planning on retiring in Florida. Been in banking, a
mortgage broker, realtor and have been a Community Manager for over
9 years. I have worked several on-sites and portfolio accounts including
over 55 years communities. I possess excellent communication skills and superior customer
service skills.
I have an open door policy; please feel free to contact me at 239 671-3606 with any concerns, questions, suggestions or complaints. Stop in and say HI when you get a minute. As
soon as I receive my email address from Associa I will inform you all. In the meantime do not

H
ello everyone, It is hard to believe that it is December again and the end
of the year 2014. It seems like only yesterday that I took Office and we had a new
Social Club Board. It has been a very successful year with lots of great entertainment,
great meals, fun social activities but most all Fellowship and Happy Times together.
All this is, of course, due to the hard work put into each and every activity, by
The Social Club Board. I thank them sincerely for their endless ideas, their diligence in finding the best entertainers, the best cooks, the hardest workers and I have come up with the
slogan:
WESTWIND: ONLY THE BEST WILL DO
Thanks to everyone for once again voting me in to be your President, It has been my pleasure to serve in this capacity. My sincere best wishes to the new President and the new Board
if I can, in any way, be of help you only need ask.
I do hope everyone had a wonderful Happy Christmas and on behalf of myself and the
outgoing Board , we wish you a Happy New Year for the year 2015.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited followed by a moment of silence.
Secretary Jill Desranleau read minutes of the November 28, 2014 Board Meeting.
The minutes of the November 4, 2014 Business Meeting were published in March Hi-Lites.
A correction was made that it was Joe Wallace and Jimmie Rusk who were retiring from
Teaching line dancing. A motion to approve was made by Nancy Pope 2nd by Elaine Blank

WINDFALL SALE UPDATE from Pat Snyder:
We continue to have a steady stream of items coming in. Please DO NOT place any items in
the garage. We now have sufficient space in our sheds. A BIG thank you to Ginny, Rilla, Rose,
Mary Ann, Bob, Linda and Paul for helping organize it. The white board has current photos of
furniture for sale NOW. Thank you to ALL who help donate and help organize.
We will have a grille in January featuring Jim Beasley and his famous fish fry.
Men’s breakfast will begin in January. Dates to be announced.
The Craft group will be doing the Christmas baskets for the shut-ins again this year. Please
inform Elaine if you know someone in need.
Thank you to everyone who help with Christmas decorations. We could not have done it
without you.
Christmas Parade and Party will be held on December 13th. Flyers will be going out with
information.
Parade begins at 6 pm followed by party at 7:30. Please bring an appetizer To share.
New Year’s Eve Dance will be on December 31st. Starting at 8 pm tickets will be $12.00 this
will include appetizer’s and favors. Anna Kalfa at #284 will be selling tickets .
Luminaries will be done on December 21st, the Sunday before Christmas.
We will assemble them in the afternoon. Joann will post the time on the board. All Welcome
!!!
Christmas Pot Luck in WWII will begin at 5:30 on the 25th. The Social Club will be sponsoring the ham for dinner, please bring a dish to share. Ibene will be chairperson for this event,
if you have any questions.

am going to try to hold various workshops/gatherings once a month in the clubhouse. I
will be asking anyone who makes, bakes or crafts anything that they would like to share, to
contact me. I would be willing to handle the coordinating.
So far I have a few ladies willing to teach us how to make pasta or pizza
,Yummo! Someone else is willing to teach us how to do nature printing on
clothing, another is willing to help crochet a basic infinity scarf. The possibilities are endless,
ideas are requested!
We would charge a nominal fee to cover the supplies. The sign up sheets would be placed
in the clubhouse, I am open to all ideas. More information will follow as our neighbors start
to head back to us!

Reminder: Homeowners Insurance
W
hen you renew your homeowner’s insurance (or when you buy it for the first time),
remember to send a copy of the Insurance Declaration page from your policy documents to the Park Office. The Insurance Declaration page specifies your specific
coverages; and most importantly to WWII, it states the specific 12 month period that your policy
is in effect. Residents are required to send their updated and renewed Insurance Declaration
page every year to the Office.
MONTHLY ASSESSMENT PAYMENTS
(Lot Rents or Maintenance Fees)

W
estwind II ROC, Inc., offers several payment options for its residents. Listed below
are instructions for these different options available to you. If you have any questions about any of these options, please contact the folks at the Park Office or contact
Associa Gulf Coast at #727-577-2200.
Option 1 – Automatic Funds Transfer (AFT) This is a very popular option used by the majority of WWII residents. This option draws a
direct debit from your assigned bank account. This draw is made by a FDIC insured bank and
occurs on the 5th of each month. It is an automatic, convenient way to pay your assessment
without worry, without postage, and without late fees being attached to your account.
You must sign up for this Option. Contact the Park Office and request an Automatic Funds
Transfer (AFT) form.
Attach a “VOID” check from your bank account to the form and return the paperwork to
the Park Office. Or, you may complete the form, attach the “Void” check, and mail directly to:

Enrollment in Option 1 may take several weeks to activate with your bank so continue
to pay your monthly assessment fee by check until you confirm that your AFT has been set
up. Call the Park Office at 727-784-4380 or the Associa Gulf Coast office at 727-577-2200 to
verify that your AFT is set up.
IMPORTANT - If you change your bank account or if you sell your home, you MUST submit
a STOP AFT form, available from the Park Office, to cancel this service.

Option 2 – Online Bill Pay If you use an online bill payment service available through your bank, check your bill payment record to make sure that you have entered your assigned account number and the correct
mailing address. DO NOT use your Unit number as your account number. You must use your
assigned account number. It can be found on the face of a coupon in your coupon book. You
may contact the Park Office or Associa Gulf Coast to verify your assigned account number.

TIE-DOWN PROGRAM
W
estwind Mobile Home Park has been approved for the Windstorm Mitigation Program provided we get 60% of the entire park to participate. I have delivered a letter
explaining the program to each house. Initially I had a sign up sheet in the Club
House where you could place your name. In one week I have a wonderful response. I have
distributed 106 applications in Westwind II. Hopefully you will return them completed to the
office. If you are out of state and rent your unit please contact the office for an application.
Here is a summary of what will happen. Tallahassee Community College has partnered
with Windstorm Mitigation Inc. to come into the Park and remove the split block, go under the
coach and install beam clamps to the “I” beam. One end of a strap will be attached to the beam
clip and the other to a new anchor. The contractor will inspect each coach to see if it qualifies
for the Tie-Down Project. Once the inspections are made the contractor contacts the “before
you dig” folks and they come out and mark the utilities.
When ready, Windstorm employees remove the split block look under the coach and check to
see if anything is hanging, such as duct work or insulation. If it is they will contact you to look
yourself or will take a picture to show you if necessary. Once the condition of the underside of
your coach is established, they will install the clips, straps and anchors, replace the split block
and be on their way. You will receive a certificate that the work has been completed. This may
be helpful when dealing with a claim. Please understand that Windstorm is not responsible if
we have a hurricane and we get a major hit. Please understand that if you have lattice work on
the outside of your split block that it most likely will not be replaced as it tends to break when
removed as the sun and weather makes it brittle after awhile. If this is a problem for you, you
may want to remove the lattice work yourself. The other option is not to participate in the
program but honestly, having some additional anchors means more to me than easily replaceable lattice work. Mr. Pullan of Windstorm told me they are shooting for February to begin the
work. The State of Florida is paying for this program. There is no cost to us but I urge you to
fill out your application and get it in as soon as possible before the State decides that they aren’t
funding this any more. They have already done 196 Mobile Home Parks in Florida. If you
have any questions, please feel free to call me. I have contact information for both Windstorm
Mitigation, Inc. and Tallahassee Community College and have been in touch with both parties.

MILITARY WHIST
T
he night of Military Whist was a great evening out at our clubhouse. We had 72 people
playing all sorts of confusing card games. To add to the madness, our table set up crew
decided to place some of the tables in random order. Well once everyone settled down
the fun and competition began. We ended the night with lots of chattering, cookies, coffee
and most importantly the prizes! Once again this was a wonderful way to start the season and
welcome back our winter family!

e have two people who have volunteered to be the “go to” men for VERY MINOR
Problems in the home as in changing refrigerator filters, furnace filter, and light bulbs.
Etc. It has been discussed that some residents due to physical infirmities cannot do
these minor maintenance items themselves yet the job is not big enough to contract with a repair
person. Doug Hattan #285 and Harlow #182 have agreed to lend a hand. The other two members of the registry as listed in last month’s Hi-Lites are Marietta Chapman #485 for language
translation and Dennis Logsden #152 for CD, DVD and any other music format. Thank you to
all of the above for your willingness to be a good neighbor to those of us who have frustration
with these types of issues. I am still looking for someone to serve as a consultant for air conditioning replacement. These folks have truly demonstrated what being a part of the Westwind
Family is really about.
WINDFALL SALE - February 28th, 2015
D
onations are going quite well. A big thanks to Gini, Maryann, Bob, Linda, Paul, Rilla
and Rose for helping to organize the shed. Be sure to check the white board in the
Clubhouse as there are photos of large items that are currently for sale. Some large
items have been sold and this gives us more room for new donations. We are still accepting
donations of clothing, household, books, furniture and misc. items in good condition. If it is
possible for you to keep them until the sale, that would be wonderful.!! If not, please call me
at 727-474-3637 for small pickups or Lenny at 727-754-4575 for large item pickups. Please
remember to only donate usable items. We do not have the space to store items that will need
to be put in the trash in February. Also, the ROC was generous enough to build us the large
shed in the laundry area. In return, we agreed not to use the garage. Please do not put any
Windfall items in the garage. In late January, early February, I will be posting sign up sheets
for help with the sale. We will need to set up on Thursday, price on Friday and sell on Saturday.
Kitchen help will also be needed as we will be serving lunch. In addition, bakers are needed
to provide goodies for the bake sale. Thanks to everyone who is working to make this season’s
Windfall Sale even more successful than the last one.

WESTWIND BOWLING 2014 – 2015 SEASON The league began on Thursday, October 16
at 12:00 noon at the Dunedin Lanes. All available subs are needed. We are 4 people short for
the 8th team. Weekly fee is $8.50, which is $7 for bowling and $1.50 toward the banquet at the
end of the season. Anyone wishing to join the league, call Dick King, 953-7223.
Water Exercise
I will not be doing water exercise this season. If anyone would like to take it over, I have exercises for the regular class and for a water circuit training program. Choose your day/days and
let everyone know by submitting it to Anne for printing in the Hi-Lites and/or put a note on
the board in the Clubhouse.

RECYCLING IN WESTWIND
A
t the recycling center on Michigan Blvd and Eckert Rd, just east
of St Andrew’s Church, you no longer have to separate items. You
can just put everything together and dump it into one of the big
openings in the dumpsters. And, in addition, they will now take colored
glass, milk and juice cartons, and plastics 1-7, which includes many small
containers in which we get food. Your curbside trash can get smaller!
ALUMINUM CANS
T
hanks to all who are bringing their cans to the recycling area. Please bring ONLY aluminum beverage cans and remember to use the crusher if you are able . It helps a lot if
the cans are sorted by crushed or not crushed. The bins are marked as such. Also, please
remove cans from plastic bags before depositing. There is a marked trash bin next
to the uncrushed bin. If you have large pieces of aluminum as from windows, doors,
awnings or lawn chairs please put them inside the trash bin area in Westwind I—
NEXT to, not in the dumpster. Anita does a wonderful job with the landscaping in
the park and uses the recycling money to fund those improvements. By recycling
we are helping the environment and helping to keep our park beautiful. Thanks to
all who participate. We really can make a difference!
