Unique Library
Lending Program
CELEBR ATES ONE YEAR!
T
he Tampa Bay Ukulele Society
(TBUS) celebrates its one-year
anniversary of The Tampa Bay
Ukulele Society (TBUS) Library
Lending Programs. These free classes
throughout the Pinellas and Hillsboro
Counties libraries, have become the
most successful adult learning programs
in the library system. TBUS donated
fifty ukuleles, bags, tuners, books and
DVD’s to libraries throughout Tampa
Bay to loan to their cardholders.
Monthly beginner and advanced
beginner ukulele classes are held at over
30 library branch locations. Over the
past year more than eleven hundred
attendees have participated in these free
library programs. Numerous TBUS
members donate their time and talent
to teach these programs and mentor uke
enthusiasts.
Join the Tampa Bay Ukulele Society
at www.meetup.com/tampabayukes.
Membership is free. TBUS currently has
over 1333 members, the largest Florida
Ukulele group. A calendar of events,
open mic’s, workshops, jams, and classes
are listed on the website. Join us to smile
and strum your cares away.
The largest TBUS annual
fundraiser is the Tampa Bay
Ukulele Getaway (TBUG)
weekend held in November
at the Sirata Beach Resort on
St. Petersburg Beach, Florida.
Accomplished Ukulele musicians from
around the world, will provide concerts,
educational workshops, jams, and
entertainment throughout the weekend.
We are pleased to have corporate
sponsorships to provide our members
and communities with specialized
training, brand awareness and the best
technology. A Silent Auction and raff les
will complement our fundraising for
our community support.
TBUS Cares oversees the community
involvement programs. Our mission is
to provide education, entertainment and
donations to community organizations
including: libraries, civic groups,
schools, charities, hospitals, assisted
living facilities, hospice, senior citizen
programs, city recreation centers and
churches. Giving back to our
community is our passion.
