Online Sto To become an accredited Pony Club Instructor in NSW or any state in Australia you will be accredited under the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme. This is under the umbrella of the Australian Sports Commission. The Pony Club Association of NSW now operates under this scheme and the NCAS is the only accreditation now available to our instructors to be accredited. The “old PCANSW” certificates can be updated and still hold their place in the system but no new certificates under that system can be obtained. Assessments are organised by the Zones and you should be able to do one in your own zone. If the numbers are not enough to have one in your zone you can apply to another zone. 1. The criteria to do your assessment: You should receive your assessment candidates notes, three lists of tasks and the assessment timetable from your Assessment Coordinator at least two weeks before the Assessment. You choose (3) tasks to teach on the day. One Flat riding task, One Jumping task, One Games task. The Assessor will also ask you to do a thorough Gear Check with explanation on safety of the gear and correct fit. 14 THE ASSESSMENT DAY: The following will be provided at the venue for you. Dressage letters, arena, jumps and games equipment. Usually witches hats are provided but check with the assessment coordinator about this. You will need to bring your own props for your task. Eg. White Board or something you wish to use in our lesson other than the above mentioned equipment. You will need to be there a bit before the starting time and be in attendance all day. You need to be neat, clean and dressed in long pants, boots or solid shoes, collared shirt with sleeves (Not sleeveless) and preferably a hat. (This is assessed) You will be allocated a number on the timetable and you will follow those times. Have the equipment for your lesson set up before you allocated time so you are ready to start on time. You will be required to teach a group of three riders for your teaching tasks. One rider for your gear check task. It is mandatory that you have this many riders. Check with your Co-ordinator if a canteen is provided or you need to supply your own food and drink. After all the candidates have been assessed you will meet with the assessors to find out your results. If you are successful you will need to fill out the relevant paperwork supplied by the assessors. AFTER THE ASSESSMENT: Your NCAS certificate is current for 4 years. In that time you need to do some updating ie. Attend a 2 day instructors school, teach at Pony Club etc. The update sheet is able to be downloaded off the PCANSW website. Keep track of the expiry date and send in the update sheet at the time of expiry not before. You should receive notifycation via your ZCI when it is due, but it is ultimately your responsibility. PCANSW pay your registration to the Australian Sports Commission every four years. Within three weeks you will receive your certificate from PCANSW. But remembering the name or website of the photographer, or if there even was a photographer at the event are the common reasons for missing out on great photos to mark your achievements. How does GeoSnapShot work? The club’s own designated photographers (Mums & Dads, friends, or local hobbyist photographers) take photos at the Pony Club events and upload them to GeoSnapShot. Parents safely and easily view photos from all the photographers at GeoSnapShot.com through password-protected (optional) albums. Photos are downloaded instantly as digital files.
