About Paraiso
How to Get Wet
One of the things which first strikes the visitor to
Nicaragua's Corn Island (Isla del Maiz) is the people,
their language and their customs compared with those
on the mainland. A visitor described his first visit to
Corn Island by saying "I closed my eyes, listened to
the conversation and the music, and thought I was
somewhere else...like Jamaica."
Paraiso is a well known cabana hotel on Corn Island and
decorated in traditional Nicaraguan style. They are made to
make you feel right at home. The cabanas have a direct view
on the sea. Paraiso organises a variety of activities for
guests including water sports and island tours. The cabanas
start at US$ 30 and include:

Diving on Corn Island is considered very good because of
the diversity of underwater scenery and marine life. You
