All Bookings on the Pilgrimage should be made through the Joe Walsh Tours office,
143 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2.
No booking is definite until we have received a completed booking form and 200 non-refundable
deposit and until this deposit is receipted by our office.
A small team of doctors and nurses will travel to assist those with a medical condition that requires
care and supervision of a doctor. Pilgrims who wish to be part of this special registered sick
section should apply in writing to:

INSURANCE:
We will automatically insure all eligible persons on booking. Insurance Policy will be forwarded to you with confirmation
of your booking and we would ask you to read this carefully to be aware of your exact cover. This is provided free as
part of the package therefore a refund is not possible if you have alternative cover. Please note that this cover extends
to all passengers up to and including 85 years. For persons between 86 and 94 years, there will be an additional premium
of f25 per person.
Cancellations:
If the customer cancels the package (which cancellation must be notified in writing to the Tour Operator), the following
cancellation charges are payable by the consumer: More than 6 weeks before the departure date; Any deposit paid shall
be forfeited. Within 6 – 4 weeks of departure; 30% of the cost of the package is forfeited. Within 4 – 2 weeks of departure;
45% of the cost of the package is forfeited. Within 2 weeks - 72 hours of departure; 60% of the cost of the package is
forfeited. Within 72 hours of departure; 100% of the cost of the package is forfeited. All cancellation charges apply to
each person covered by a booking. Any Insurance premium paid is not refundable and there is an excess on each claim.
HOTELS:
We have made arrangements to reserve the best accommodation available in a good range of hotels, well known for their
kind attention and good service and, indeed, well known to Irish Pilgrims. Please note the cost is based on sharing twin,
treble and quad rooms with private facilities. These rooms/hotels must be on a “first come, first serve” basis.
Single Rooms: These are very limited and subject to availability at a supplementary charge of f150 for hotels Alba, Agena, Mediterranee,
Jeanne D'Arc and Astoria and f175 for hotels La Solitude and Eliseo. Your kind co-operation in agreeing to share a
twin or treble room, if at all possible, will be much appreciated.
LOURDES CITY TAX: The French Government have introduced a New City Tax which applies to all tourists/pilgrims over 18 years. The current rates are
€1.10 per person per night in 3-star hotels and €1.70 per person per night in 4-star hotels. This tax applies to all hotels throughout
France and it will be charged directly by your hotel and is payable at the hotel reception.
special requests:
These must be made in writing. They will be carefully noted and we will do our best to meet such requests. However,
as you will appreciate, this is a Pilgrimage and it is not always possible to satisfy all individual requests. Therefore, it
must be clearly understood that bookings are accepted on the basis of pilgrims accepting the flight and hotel allocated
to them. Bookings are not transferable from one person to another except with the approval of the Pilgrimage Director.
Medical & other miscellaneous charges:
Please note these charges in total are the direct responsibility of the traveller (pilgrim or invalid) or their legal guardian/next of kin.
All travellers should have a European Health Insurance Card formerly E111 (available free of Charge from your local Health
Authority). If the Pilgrimage Committee do not receive a completed medical form, the pilgrim / sick pilgrim or their legal
guardian / next of kin will be responsible for the payment of all local doctor's fees.
delayed or cancelled flights:
Joe Walsh Tours and the Carmelite Pilgrimage Committee cannot accept any responsibility for cost incurred by pilgrims
for meals, transfers, overnight accommodation or any other costs resulting from delayed, cancelled or diverted flights. Passport: EVERY PERSON TRAVELLING TO FRANCE MUST HAVE A VALID UP-TO-DATE PASSPORT. If you already have a
passport, please check now that it will be valid for travel up to the date of your return journey. A fee of f30 will be payable in
respect of a name change within six weeks of departure.
Balance of fare:
This is due TWELVE WEEKS before departure date, Joe Walsh Tours and the Pilgrimage Committee shall be
entitled at their discretion to treat as cancelled any booking in respect of which the balance of fare shall not have been
remitted twelve weeks before the date of departure.
Final Instructions:
Full information, air tickets, luggage labels, etc. will be sent to you within 10 days prior to the departure date of the Pilgrimage. Our
representatives in Lourdes will be available at all times to render assistance.

We suggest that, in your own best interest, you call to your local bank who should have the most up-to-date and best
information at their disposal. Remember, however, that travellers cheques are insurance against loss and having
your money so protected is an extra value in itself.

N.B. Basic cost of pilgrimage could be subject to possible fuel surcharge, but our wish is to expand maximum
consideration to all, and if applicable, we will keep to an absolute minimum and advise all travellers as soon as possible.
WHEELCHAIRS:
Wheelchairs are not included in your travel insurance cover. We recommend separate insurance cover.
Motorised WHEELCHAIRS / scooters:
Joe Walsh Tours must be advised at time of booking if you intend taking a motorised wheelchair/scooter to Lourdes. Acceptance
will be subject to any weight or dimension restrictions imposed by the Airline. Wheelchairs are not covered by the standard travel
insurance. We recommend separate cover. Carriage of all wheelchairs is strictly at owner's risk. essential for travel:
