idea book Sixty-Four big ideas that attract attention to your event or organiz ation Sixty-four creative ideas and solutions for getting your business name out there and known. We have masterminded a variety of different mediums you can utilize. What ever fits best to your business. Inspiration brought to you by: s ol u t ion s 01- 07 01 Bri c k a r t Brick art appears as if you painted the wall. 03 Ba nne r di s p l ay Make your banner work for you year-round. The #1 attention grabber is Brick Art. Big Horn school proudly received the Blue Ribbon Award and wanted to display it for the world to see. What if it were painted onto the building? Shaping the graphic gives that appearance. It stops people dead in their tracks. Applied with heat and a roller, it appears as painted onto the brick, concrete or textured surface. It’s removed with heat. So many brick buildings have ugly, outdated, painted lettering. Could it be covered with Brick Art to match the brick? 05 c a mpa ign s ign Campaign sign advice: keep them simple. Political campaign consultants agree, keep it simple, readable, and memorable. Campaign signs do two things; first they brand the candidate’s name into the mind by exposing voters to it repeatedly. They also help voters gauge the amount of support a candidate has. You have to support a candidate in order to have their sign in your yard, right? So the more campaign signs the better. A professional sign always beats a homemade sign out of your desk top printer. 06 Consider banners that can be displayed tastefully inside your office or store after they have been displayed outside, at a tradeshow or event. There are a number of pieces of display hardware that you can use to stretch the useful life of a banner. 02 B a c k l i t s ign Signs that attract attention -day or night. Whether it is for a political campaign or to publicize an event, bumper stickers make a statement. 07 c a s t p o s t e r s Give the cast a hand and a print. 04 c a s e s Keep your banners safe on the road and at home. Our parent company, Kennon Products, Inc., specializes in protective coverings. The cases below were produced by Kennon. What better to hold your banners than a custom case that is manufactured locally? If the shop space already has a lighted sign holder, then it is pretty easy to change out the sign. You want a sign that looks good and is easily visible, whether or not it is lit. Consider a tasteful design that fits with the building and with the neighborhood. 2 B ump e r S t i c k e r s for more information please visit: There is a lot of work that goes on when putting on a show. The cast spends months rehearsing and on closing night a cast print is a great way to say thanks. It may not be an Oscar, but it captures the entire cast in costume and is something that each can hang on the wall and be admired forever. w w w. k e n n o n s i g n s h o p . c o m or contact us at: (307) 675-1007 s ol u t ion s 08 -14 08 C ou c h A r t 13 EVENT B a nne r s Get multiple use while publicizing an event. Use your own photos to create “Couch Art.” 10 l ogo t r a s h b ag s Be remembered. Couch Art has always referred to those framed pictures that you see in furniture store displays. They hang over couches. You know what I mean, the typical massreproduced print that you see anywhere and everywhere. Just say “no” to velvet dogs playing pool! Why not personalize your couch art and use the digital pictures that you took on your last family vacation, or of that special place that actually means something to you and your family? Frameless and timeless, couch art produced on a durable substrate is a great way to personalize the decor in your living area. Pets, vacations, family, homestead… make it yours and make it your own. 09 C oun t e r T op p e r How about a counter topper to display a message? Novelty items such as pens, bookmarks and “stress balls” tend to be overdone. Give your customers something unique to remember you by: a logo trash bag. Customize it with different trim colors and messaging. 11 W e l c ome B a nne rs Greet potential customers with a “Hello” that is sure to get their attention. You’ll always see a welcome banner at convention centers for two reasons: it provides direction, telling the participants that they are in the right place, and it extends a warm welcome. Welcome banners add class to any event. 12 Use a counter topper to acknowledge sponsors or to reinforce the purpose of occasion or event with pictures and stories. Or how about listing the “live auction items” at a fund raising event, or providing directions on how to participate in a raffle or drawing? 3 wa rning f l ag s Take necessary precaution by attaching a warning to appropriate products. for more information please visit: We just had the occasion to print some very large banners for an outdoor music festival. The banners were designed to describe the services that the organization provides. They contained some touching photos of the organization in action. The event organizer wanted to use these displays again after the event ended. He didn’t want anything on the banner that would date it, not even the name of the event or its sponsors. Instead the client ordered separate “yard signs” to place at the venue acknowledging sponsors . He placed them around the grounds. The yard signs are inexpensive and easily changed out from one event to another as sponsors change. Sponsor names and logos were displayed on individual signs, which could then be given as a thank you. The client was very thrifty and wise. 14 n a me tag s Set yourself apart with custom name tags that make a statement about you and your business. w w w. k e n n o n s i g n s h o p . c o m or contact us at: (307) 675-1007 s ol u t ion s 15 -21 15 Re u s a bl e Fa c s imil e C he c k s 20 De c or at i v e Indoor Fa bri c Soft and tasteful decorative fabric Big Gift? Recognize the donation by displaying a big check. A Reusable Facsimile Check is one that accepts an erasable marker. Some donors appreciate a picture in the newspaper, newsletter, on Facebook, or on a web site. Every non-profit needs to keep a 4-foot-wide, reusable check in its arsenal for that very special moment when it receives a grand donation. 17 Gi a n t Bu il ding Ba nne rs Go giant to capture more attention and to draw crowds. Nearly any graphic you imagine can be printed on almost any surface, including silky fabric. When First Christian Church installed stained glass windows, they wanted people to know what message each window was conveying. A soft, decorative, fireproof fabric was used to match the window with a message. 18 t r a ff i c c on t rol Steer customers your way. Have you ever been shopping the day after Thanksgiving? Between long lines and what seems like an infinite amount of shoppers, it is easy to become frustrated. Provide a better customer experience with our easy-to-install crowd management solution. 16 F e n c e S ign s It’s going, going, going, gone over the fence 19 T r a de s how Trade show, your show. 21 Indoor Wa l l A r t Walls really do talk: What do you want them to say? For those times when words are just not enough, Bella Graphics & Display suggests using a picture. Long lasting and environmentally-friendly, these large format photos are sure to bring a smile. With made to order sizes, these prints will please the most discriminating critic. The back matting of the photos is made from recycled materials, such as old pop and water bottles. There are many things that you can do with a fence; you can choose what to keep in or out. Fences make good structure for signage, whether it is signage to thank Babe Ruth team sponsors or construction project signage that acknowledges contractors and developers. Both temporary and permanent signs hang nicely on a chain link fence. Trade shows are exciting. However, amidst those hundreds of booths, potential customers will remember 2-3 booths at most. Customize your booth to set yourself apart and be remembered. 4 for more information please visit: w w w. k e n n o n s i g n s h o p . c o m or contact us at: (307) 675-1007 s ol u t ion s 22-27 22 L ogo Ba c k drop Brand your photos with a logo backdrop. 24 L ogo c ov e rs Make any cover stand out with your brand or logo. Mur a l s 26 Give your wall pizazz with a photographic quality image. Fabric complete with a printed logo, when sewn into covers, is a perfect combination to provide protection from the weather while simultaneously providing brand identity. Have you ever tuned into C-SPAN? Every spokesperson is standing in front of a backdrop with the organization’s logo or business’ name. Sometimes that backdrop is just filled completely with mini-logos so that no matter where a cameraman shoots the shot, the brand is visible, along with the subject in the foreground. A photo with two or more people is called a “grip and grin.” Make it interesting and more useful by including your organization’s brand in the background. aps 25 M Large maps require large scanning and printing. ogo C h a ir-B a c k 23 LTransform an What to do with a blank wall? Hang framed pictures, or make the entire wall a picture message? A mural wall covering makes use of the vast space in your office area or entrance way to tell visitors more about you or your company. Murals also make great “motif” enhancers for sports bars, restaurants or man caves. 27 O v e r t he S t re e t Ba nne r Drive under it, see it as you walk down the street - get the most visibility with an over the street banner. ordinary seat into a branding mechanism. We covered the ugly backs of hotel banquet chairs with logo chair seat back covers for a table that we decorated at an event. They were festive and provided logo ID. 5 Old Maps can be preserved. Oversize items like maps can be scanned and printed or simply saved as a digital file. It is always better to display a large map on the wall, as opposed to rolling it out on the table and anchoring it with coffee cups. Oversized items can be printed on a rigid material and hung directly on the wall or displayed on an easel. Other times, architects and developers want to share their maps with potential customers A good idea is to have them scanned and printed on either indoor or outdoor sign board. Attorneys share maps inside the courtroom: now there is a way to effectively present evidence without turning off the lights and putting the jury to sleep. for more information please visit: Over the street banners work best in the slow speed traffic areas. This could be on Main Street, on a college or hospital campus or in an office park. Over the street banners are often two-sided so that they can be read from either direction. They are also perfect for pedestrian malls. A minimum of 4 inch letters are required for safe viewing at a distance of 100 feet. w w w. k e n n o n s i g n s h o p . c o m or contact us at: (307) 675-1007 s ol u t ion s 28 -33 28 Pat ie n t S a f e t y Padded doors with artwork are used in hospitals. 30 f l oor gr a p hi c s Floor graphics provide direction for foot travelers. 31 P ho t o bl ow- up s Transform something really small into something really big. Padded doors with artwork are replacing wooden and metal doors on psychiatric floors to help eliminate anchor points for those who might use them to commit suicide by hanging. Doors and framed artwork must be removed and “Soft Suicide Prevention Doors” are used instead. Some say the artwork can be therapeutic; the patients certainly seem to like it. 29 P e t A r t Capture your pets in print and enjoy them forever. Decorating for a party? Enlarged photos are a really good idea. It is best to begin with a high resolution digital image, but sometimes the only thing you have is an old-timey, black and white photo. It works if you scan it at a high resolution and print it large. The larger, the better because when you are decorating a large hall, you really want the pictures to stand out. Pictures always appear smaller when you are trying to decorate a large space. 32 Re c ru i t me n t Ba nne r Help wanted? Need volunteers? Hang your banner. Our pets are special, so why not capture them at their best, with a photo, and then enjoy them forever in a durable, frameless wall hanging? Beth requested a picture of her friend’s Chesapeake and surprised him with this beautiful image – one picture hangs above their sofa and the other in his office. 6 for more information please visit: 33 ou t door Re t r a c ta bl e B a nne r S ta nd s Protect your banner, whether it’s at an exhibit or in the office. It is smart to use a Retractable Banner Stand when you exhibit at trade shows. Your graphic rolls safely inside the stand to protect it from incidental damage during shipping. This is crucial. There is nothing worse than setting up a wrinkled or damaged display. It is easy to ship and set up. When you are not exhibiting, set up your display at your place of business. It is as easy as unrolling a window blind, except you pull it up and not down. You can easily change out the graphic any time you want. This is also very important because you need a targeted message for every tradeshow. w w w. k e n n o n s i g n s h o p . c o m or contact us at: (307) 675-1007 s ol u t ion s 3 4 - 41 34 S e a s on a l C u s t om 39 S p e c i a l E v e n t Posters Generate excitement for an upcoming event with a poster. t r a c t or 37 re Display your banner with style, no matter where you are. There are four seasons and 16 holidays, you can change the entire mood and atmosphere to keep up with the calendar. Think nursing homes and hospitals. Retractors are the easiest way to display a banner message in a store, or at a tradeshow exhibit. The banner retracts inside the base to keep it safe and looking perfect. The message banner is easily to change. We’ve tried a lot of different displays for tradeshow exhibitions and we have settled on retractors for those very reasons. 35 S i t e S ign s Send your message loud and clear. 40 Mi ss ing P e r s on T ru c k Gr a p hi c s Freight trucks travel thousands of miles weekly. It’s sad, but missing persons travel those same highways. Missing Person Truck Graphics use the large wall space to help find missing persons. 41 Ta bl e S k ir t Draw people to the table with a logo table skirt. 38 S t ore W indow Di s p l ay Sell from your store window. 36 b ir t hday ba nne r Create a fun backdrop for birthdays and other events. 7 A store window display needs to be focused. It is no different than an ad in a magazine or newspaper. Begin with a theme, add product, and then use signage to draw attention and educate the passerby as to why they need your product offering. You have less than 10 seconds to stop them in their tracks. for more information please visit: Whether it be a conference registration table or a table displaying goods for sale, the first thing you need to do is attract attention and draw people nearer. A table skirt with your logo is a big, bold way to do that. w w w. k e n n o n s i g n s h o p . c o m or contact us at: (307) 675-1007 s ol u t ion s 42- 4 8 42 ta bl e T op p e r s Display a message to walk up traffic. 45 V e hi c l e S ign age Take your office with you. If you are on the go a lot, take a professional office image with you. Our magnetic or vinyl vehicle signs speak for your business even when you can’t. 47 W indow A r t Window Art is a multipurpose tool. A table topper is a great way cross-sell or up-sell. Would you like a apple pie with your order? It’s also an eye-catching tool for announcing a sales event. 43 T he at ri c a l S e t s Dress up the stage with flowing fabric designs. 46 V e r t i c a l B uil ding Ba nne r Display huge messages on sides of downtown buildings. Stage design is easy when you can design your set on computer screen and make it come alive on stage in flowing fabric. You can select the fabric to work with your stage lighting plan and create effects like you see on the big stage. Unlimited width and height. 44 gl a ss Did you know that you can print onto glass? Besides a billboard, where else can you display a really big attention grabbing message? How about on the side of a downtown building? Our first installations were pedestrian stoppers! What you will need: Permission and access, of course. You must have access to a flat roof and a windowless wall, a strong, lightweight banner and a way to secure it. A mesh banner with pole pockets at the top and bottom works great! Conduit pipe from the hardware store keeps your banner hanging straight. Simply secure the top and bottom with rope. We’ve found window art to serve a number of purposes. It helps keep the room cool, it provides a certain amount of privacy or security from prying eyes,(think banks and bank robbers) and it provides an opportunity for a signage or marketing message. Window Art is produced on mesh so that it allows light through. You can see pedestrian traffic, but they will have a hard time seeing through from the street. It can be used to cover the entire window or just the top or bottom portion. 48 W ine L a be l s Spruce up any special occasion with a unique label. Did you know that you can have any image you want printed onto your glass gun or china cabinet? How about a picture of the young one with his first deer or your prize bird dog with his first bird? How about that glass in the office door or on a window? As long as the glass is flat, it can be done. Oh, the possibilities... 8 for more information please visit: w w w. k e n n o n s i g n s h o p . c o m or contact us at: (307) 675-1007 s ol u t ion s 4 9 -56 49 ya rd s ign s 54 Re d C a rp e t Get the attention of passersby with yard signs. We use ours at the entrance point to our outdoor hot tub. 51 l igh t b ox 52 TILE ART These tiles are actually printed, but they look hand painted. What a great way to share art in public places. Enhance the décor of a retail space with a lighted product display. We ship the same palletized container all over the country. It arrives before our designers do. It is a great advertising and a good way for us to pick up additional business while we are on location. 56 L ogo W he e l C ov e r 53 Av e nue Ba nne r s Line the street with multiple impressions. A merchant uses a light box to draw attention to a product offering night and day, indoors or outdoors. The backlit graphic is protected inside the light box and is easily changed out. 9 Spruce-up Main Street, a campus boulevard or a park with avenue banners. A repetitive message is highly effective in getting your point across. Banners can be changed out according to season, event or campaign. There is no better way to acknowledge major sponsors. Each sponsor can have his own banner - just alternate them down the street. This is a very cost effective way to acknowledge your sponsors, even as sponsorship changes from year to year. for more information please visit: This is a wheel cover that was done for a friend of ours.
