The Training Center.
We are based in Gerona Catalonia, Spain on the Mediterranean Sea (100 km to Barcelona city), with two
main airports, rail and bus stations and a great touristic area; which create the perfect environment for
students.
Our main base is located in the science and technology park of the university of Gerona,
(http://www.parcudg.com/) surrounded by a technological environment and excellent facilities where
people from all over the world work together in each of their specialties from robotics to genetics.
Our practical training center is located in Palamos on the Costa Brava, Gerona were we have boats to
perform the ROV confined water and offshore training.
You will pilot the ROV in one of the best place in the Mediterranean, with amazing visibility, full of sea life
and underwater structures going from a shipwreck to a subsea wellhead panel designed for ROV's. You will
also perform seabed survey, anchor, chain inspection and manipulating task.

Instructors
All our instructors have extended experience in ROV's engineering, offshore saturation and air diving who
are also university professors and can offer all the knowledge and support our students will require during
the course and in their future.
Accommodation
Our Training center is located in Palamós a tourist area located on the Costa Brava, Gerona, here you can
find many option for your accommodation, from low cost hotels to five star hotels in one of the most
beautiful location in Spain.
We can arrange all types of accommodation for our students:

Facilities and Equipment
EuroROV Training is located at the Gerona University Technology Park, the main building holds a six
meters deep water tank for ROV training. Our classrooms, electronics and engineering workshop and
auditorium with full Wi-Fi internet access are 20 meters far from the Restaurant and Lounge Bar.
Only 20 minutes driving from the Technology Park on the Mediterranean sea is our shore base, located in
Palamos, Gerona, Costa Brava has access to our boats, ROV control cabin and different range of subsea
depths going from 25 meters of Marina Palamos Pier to the 50 meters of offshore sites were subsea
structures such a deep shipwreck, subsea wellhead panel ROV friendly or many reef full of sea life create a
perfect sport for realistic ROV training.

ROV PILOT TECHNICIAN COURSE. (RPN01)
This is designed for people with a strong technical background. The standard course consists of 3 weeks in
the training center in Spain. The distinct advantage of this course is that students complete the courses with
lots of hours of practices that increase the chances of employability and is a major highlight in the
curriculum.
Course pre-requisite.
This course has been designed to take personnel who meet the minimum requirements and give them the
outline knowledge they require to work safely and effectively in an offshore environment, whilst continuing
their training to become a safe and effective member of an ROV Crew and offshore team. As per IMCA
guidance document R002 Rev 2, the guidelines state that the minimum requirements for ROV trainees
should be as follows: A nationally recognized technical trade qualification complete in one or more of the
following subject:
 Electrical
 Electronic
 Hydraulics
 Mechanics
Or
In certain circumstances, candidates who do not meet the above but have extensive industrial experience,
supported by evidence and references may be acceptable. Personal attributes such as enthusiasm; team
player; good communications,
Self-motivation; practical ability and common sense are also a requirement. Physically fit and good overall
health will be needed to complete the medicals and safety courses necessary to work offshore. Deep learning
will be achieved with appropriate questioning techniques and visual aids delivered by qualified and trained
technical instructors.
