On behalf of the teachers at Counterpoint and all of our Princesses, we would like to invite you to this year’s Princess
Make Believe Recital on Saturday May 14, 2011 at the Glenmore Christian Academy. Our Princesses are currently
working on their recital dance and look forward to showing you all of their hard work!
Recital
The recital will be held at the Glenmore Christian Academy Theatre located at 16520 - 24th Street SW. Please note that Glenmore
Christian Academy is located in Bridlewood which is a half an hour drive south from the studio (please find directions at the end of
this newsletter). The recital will be at 12:00pm.
Princesses should arrive at the Glenmore Christian Academy at 11:30am in their recital costume with their hair and make-up
completed. A Counterpoint volunteer will greet you in the lobby of the school and direct you and your Princess backstage. Parents
will then leave their Princess with the designated class volunteers who will stay with the dancers for the show. Please do not leave
any personal belongings with your Princess when she is left with the class volunteers. As we anticipate the recital being 45 minutes in
length, Princesses will not require a snack and we will provide water. ALL other guests should line up at the theatre doors located in
the main lobby. The doors to the theatre will be opened at 11:45am and the show starts at 12:00pm SHARP! PLEASE NOTE
THERE IS NO FOOD OR BEVERAGES ALLOWED IN THEATRE.
PLEASE CHECK THE PROGRAM WHICH WILL BE POSTED IN EARLY APRIL IN THE STUDIO LOBBY TO ENSURE YOUR CHILD’S
NAME IS INCLUDED AND CORRECTLY SPELLED.
Costumes
An important element in our recital are the costumes that add color, vibrancy and beauty to the stage. Your Princess’ recital costume
was included in the class fee. Costumes will be given out in class in April. A costume dress requirement sheet with information
regarding costume, hair, make-up, shoes etc. will go home with the costumes (please check your dancer’s costume bag). This
information will also be posted on our web site at www.princessmakebelieve.com.

Recital DVD
Counterpoint is using the services of a professional video company who is able to offer wonderful DVDs of the recital.
A Flower For Your Princess
A beautiful flower for you to present to your Princess following the recital.
Flowers will not be available for purchase at the theatre and must be pre-ordered
by March 24, 2011. Cost of flower is $5.00.
Teacher Flower Presentations
Please help us say a special thank you to all of our wonderful teachers! We ask, if you would like, to make a small
contribution so that we may purchase a gift of thanks for each teacher to be presented at the recital.
Recital Tickets
Please fill out the recital ticket order form on page 3 and return it to the office by March 24, 2011. Recital tickets are
$10.00 per person, families can purchase a maximum of 5 tickets and it is general seating (NO ASSIGNED SEATING).
You will receive your tickets in April and will need to present them at the theatre doors in order to gain admittance. Please
note that baby carseats cannot be placed on ticketed seats as there is limited space in the theatre. Thank you
Photo Day
Counterpoint’s photo day will be held on Saturday April 30. Princesses are required to wear their costumes and may
order photos at a later date. Please note your Princess’ photo time as follows:
9:30 – 10:00
Princess Saturday 10:15 Class
10:30 – 11:00
Princess Saturday 9:30 Class
12:00 – 12:45
Princess Monday 3:30 & 5:00 Classes
1:30 – 2:00
Princess Tuesday 10:00 Class

Recital Help
Our parent volunteers are an integral part of our recital. We are currently looking for volunteers to be Class Moms for our
Princess Make Believe dancers. We require two volunteers per class who will be responsible for staying with the
Princesses throughout the recital ensuring that the children are safe and accounted for when not onstage. As well, the
volunteers will check for proper attire and escort Princess dancers to and from the stage for their performance. If you
would like to volunteer please fill out the form below. We truly appreciate all of your help and support. Thank you
Studio Reminders..............
The studio will be closed Wednesday February 16 to Monday February 21 for the Teacher’s Convention/
Family Day weekend.
With the snow, we kindly ask that all dancers and parents remove outdoor footwear and place it on the
shelves and mats at the studio entrance. This helps to keep everyone’s shoes and stockings dry and clean.
Please make sure that your dancer’s name is marked in their dance attire and regular footwear!! With so many
shoes and boots in one place it is easy to bring the wrong ones home by mistake. Thank you
