Clint has been involved with heavy horses for many years and with the purchase last year of his Purebred Stallion “Ballara Le-‐Roi”, has been steadily making a name for himself in the Percheron harness and led classes. He will be an asset to the association and we are very happy to have him on the committee for 2015/16. I would also like to thank Peter Cahill, who has stepped down from the committee this year. Peter Cahill has been a committee member for a number of years and his input as a committee member has been invaluable and greatly appreciated. I am pleased to advise that our participation in the Horse Breeds expo at the Queensland Royal Show was our most successful in many years, if not ever. The Judges placed the Association as follows: 1st Place: Breed Demonstration 3rd Place: Breed display 1st Place: Exhibitors Choice These results were achieved by the imaginative thought, dedication and pure hard work of Kirsty McKenna, Jamie-‐Lee De Jager and Helen Perry. Congratulations ladies, well done. (See the Horse Breed Expo section of the newsletter for the full article and photos) It is also my pleasure to congratulate our members that won and placed in the purebred led and ridden classes. Congratulations also go to all that competed, with all classes well represented and all horses shown at a very high standard of presentation. As can be seen from the above results and the minutes of the AGM when circulated, the Association has been actively working to assist our members and promote the Percheron Breed in Australia and we look forward to a productive 2015/16. Of the three prizes awarded in the Horse Breeds Expo, we were very proud to achieve 1st Place for the Breed Demonstration 3rd Place for Breed Display 1st Place Exhibitors Choice Our theme this year was a French country cottage, and with hand built gabled roof, Percheron themed window displays, Lavender and conifer plantings and vintage French furniture along with handmade Percheron bunting, stenciled stable backdrop and chandelier, we believe we achieved the French cottage we had hoped for. Thank you to all members and committee members that assisted throughout the duration of the show with both demonstrations and the operation of the stand. Special thanks go to: Joshua Penhalurick and Peter McKenna for the construction of the stand and transport of materials. Helen Perry for kindly allowing Cobigan Orlando to be our Stable and Breed Demonstration horse and doing a fantastic job with the Breed Demonstrations. Jamie-‐Lee de Jager and Kirsty McKenna for design, planning, setup and operation of the stand, and assistance with Breed Demonstrations. Clint Kenny and David Perry for being available to assist wherever necessary.
