Hopewell Jct., NY 12533 24 S.D.H.P.A Year End Awards Western Division: High Point Youth Champion & Reserve Champion High Point Adult Champion & Reserve Champion Perpetual Award for Bareback Perpetual Award for Versatility Perpetual Award for Open Perpetual Award for Green Horse English Division: High Point Youth Champion & Reserve Champion High Point Adult Champion & Reserve Champion Gymkhana: Perpetual High Point Youth Award Perpetual High Point Open Award All will be based on the one horse/one rider point combination Western, English, and Gymkhana will each have a Division Champion & Reserve Division Champion in all Divisions Hi Point Trainer Award: Awarded to the trainer who accumulates the highest amount of points between them self and his/her students for the show season combined from all disciplines Hi Point Horse Award: Awarded to the horse with the highest amount of points combined from all disciplines. Will be based on the horse and not the horse/rider combination Year End Awards will be given out at our Banquet — February 25, 2017 The Links at Unionvale. 2 23 2016 SDHPA Horse Show Rules 1. SDHPA would like to thank our Sponsors, Members, Families and Friends, for all of your support. Riders must be properly attired for all classes. * English: Certified helmet, boots, breeches, polo shirts or shirt and jacket, rat catcher, jacket and tie. Half chaps and paddock boots are permitted. * Western: Western hat or certified helmet, collared long sleeve shirt, long pants/jeans and riding boots. * Gymkhana: Collared shirt, long pants/jeans and riding boots. NO Tank Tops. 2. All Riders under 18 are required to wear an ASTM/SEI 1163 approved helmet. Those not in compliance will be excused by the show committee. 3. All entries must be in writing and signed by the exhibitor. A parent or guardian must sign the form if the exhibitor is under 18. Signature shall constitute acceptance of all rules and regulations. 4. Current coggins and rabies are required for all horses valid within one year of the show date. 5. Rider’s age will be as of January 1st of current year. Horses age will be as listed on coggins. 6. Only current SDHPA members in good standing will be eligible for year end awards. Points are effective upon receipt of paid membership. Points will be accumulated on a one horse/one rider combination. NO EXCEPTIONS! To be eligible for year end awards you will also need to show in the following amount of shows: It is because of your support, generosity, and devotion to our club, that SDHPA is able to exist English: 2 out of 2 shows Western: 2 out of 3 shows Gymkhana: 2 out of 3 shows One of the season’s shows will be Double Pointed. This show date will be drawn at the end of the season at the October meeting 7. There will be a 2 minute gate call for all classes. Failure to enter ring after 2 minutes of class being called will result in rider disqualification and you will not be eligible for a class refund. 8. All Adds/Scratches must be done 2 classes prior to be eligible for a refund. 9. All riding outside the ring should be done no faster than a walk except in designated schooling areas. 10. Any horse deemed to be unsafe for riders, exhibitors or spectators will be asked to leave the show grounds. Anyone behaving in an unsportsmanlike manner will be asked to leave the show grounds. 11. All dogs must be on a leash. 12.Alcoholic beverages and controlled substances are not permitted on the premises. Anyone found consuming them will be asked to leave the grounds. 13. All decisions made by the show committees and/or judges are final. Show committees and/or judges reserve the right to combine, split or cancel classes/divisions. 14. Please notify the entry booth of any tack changes 5 classes prior to the change. All tack changes must take place near the arena. 22 3 15. SDHPA, Estate of Elton Bailey, Jr., all SDHPA directors & officers, all event management and volunteers will not be responsible for any accident which may occur to or be caused by any person or animal on the show grounds. 16. Day End/Year End Division Champion ties will be broken as follows: English: ride off or coin toss Western: winner of the equitation class Gymkhana: winner of the dash race 18. Class points will be awarded on a 7/5/4/3/2/1 basis with full class of 3 or more riders. Classes with fewer than 3 will be have class points cut in half. 19. Equipment standards will parallel the AQHA and USEF Rule Book Standards for all disciplines. Any rule not specifically addressed under each discipline will revert back to AQHA and USEF rules. Entry Fees $10 for members/$14 for non-members $20 3D Barrels/Poles & Sweepstakes Trail Practice tickets are available for $5.00 per practice (optional) All entries are subject to a $5.00 office fee. Timer fee of $2.00 will be applied for gymkhana and 3D horses. Ribbons will be awarded in all classes with the exception of Gymkhana Gymkhana payback: 70% of entry money (If less than 5 entries payback will be 50%) Non-Payment of past due show bills must be paid before next show or exhibitor will not be allowed to compete. Entries in the walk/jog and leadline divisions may not go faster than a jog or they will be disqualified. 5 second penalty will be given for a knocked down obstacle, an off course will be a no time. You must have control of your horse coming into and out of the chute.
