Description
The Adimec 4M CMOS family exists of three models. Starting from a high speed fully configurable
Adimec-4050 with CCD-like image quality to an ultra high speed Adimec-4200, especially designed
for applications which requires the possible highest frame rates. The standard burst mode allows the
highest acquisition speeds, still with a standard 8-tap Camera Link frame grabber. Higher sustained
acquisition speeds can be achieved by the 10-tap mode.
With Adimec’s proprietary camera electronics and firmware design, this camera family offers a unique
combination of high frame speed, image quality, and exceptional reliability.

Description
Because accuracy, throughput, and up-time are key success factors for machine vision
OEMs, the Adimec-1000 family of cameras offers superior image quality, higher frame rates,
and greater durability than other machine vision cameras.
The color cameras in the Adimec-1000 family utilize one CCD sensor with a Bayer color
ilter, which complements host-based color processing that is available with most high-end
frame grabbers.
The Adimec-1000 family of digital megapixel cameras was created for OEMs worldwide with
demanding machine vision applications who require a camera that will make a difference in their
system. Adimec combined select sensors with proprietary electronics to produce cameras

We designed the speciications for our machine vision camera platform
with the input of our most demanding customers and key suppliers.
This Adimec 1000 Family is based on the Camera Link standard. These
cameras are known to offer higher image quality, faster frame speeds
and greater durability than other machine vision cameras. Adimec’s
1000 family is optimized for OEMs that seek to both lower the cost of
integrating multiple cameras and maximize their system performance.
Because these cameras are extremely versatile, they are also being
used for applications that range from outdoor trafic control to eye
surgery.
We cross-breed innovations from the three markets we serve to make all
of our cameras better. Our experience in medical applications – where clear
images are critical for correct diagnosis – motivated us to develop cameras with superior image quality. This technology has been transferred to our
machine vision cameras, enabling our customers to substantially increase
defect detection and yields. The military market requires high-performance
imaging in harsh environments driving us to continuously improve the
reliability of all of our cameras. For our machine vision customers, this
means less downtime and lower cost of ownership.

Description
The OPAL series is based on the TRUESENSE 5.5-micron Interline Transfer CCD image sensors
allowing greater spatial resolution at high speeds. This state-of-the-art sensor technology
combined with Adimec’s advanced proprietary electronics provides excellent uniform images
with high linear behaviour ity over the full dynamic range through optimized embedded video
enhancement.

Introduction
This document describes the functionality and key speciications of the Qs 2 and 4 Megapixel cameras.
The Qs-2A120 and Qs-4A60 are equipped with a pipe-lined global shutter CMOS sensor and embedded in a small
housing. Pipe-lined global shutter technology assures low read noise combined with accurate shutter performance. All
Quartz cameras are itted with Adimec True Accurate Imaging® technology. True Accurate Imaging is a combined set of
image technologies enabling the best imaging performance for inspections and metrology applications.

Flat ield correction
To improve and simplify image uniformity,
all QUARTZ cameras are calibrated in
the factory with lat ield correction.
This embedded function also supports
in ield calibration to compensate for
non-uniformity in the optical path and
lighting non-uniformities of the application.
The QUARTZ series can store up to 40
calibrated sets to allow fast switching
during operation between different
lighting-optics setups. This off-loads the
processing needs on the frame grabber
and simpliies the development effort at
system integration.
Leveraging the performance of sophisticated CMOS sensors,
and enhancing them with unmatched uniformity, even for a

The QUARTZ Series supports both
linear and non-linear dynamics range
improvements. The linear method enables
capturing scenes with a dynamic ranges
up to 72 dB, resulting in less noisy images
and the ability to image a more contrast
rich scene with linear detection response.
The non‑linear HDR (High Dynamic
Range) function, captures scenes with
up to 90 dB dynamic range onto the 60
dB range of the sensor via a user‑deined
non-linear response mapping.

QUARTZ cameras provide improved shot
noise performance and sensitivity via
user‑conigurable binning or HiQ (High
Image Quality) functionality. Both functions
support a shot noise improvement up to
12 dB. With 2 directional binning, shot
noise is improved while keeping the
maximum frame speed. With HiQ mode,
shot noise is improved while keeping the
ield of view or selected region of interest.
Using ROI imaging in HiQ mode, speed
can be increased for smaller FOV’s.

Description
The S‑25A30 is a 25 megapixel CMOS global shutter camera and delivers images of 5120 x 5120
pixels at 32 fps over Camera Link. Using the standard Region of Interest function the frame rate can
be increased, e.g. 100 fps at 8 Mpx. Embedded real‑time pixel processing minimizes blemishes and
maximises uniformity. The combination of Adimec image quality, form factor and low power usage
makes the camera ideal for inspection systems that require high resolution to increase in throughput

Semi-automatic calibration by Active Sensor Control
The Sapphire series has a practical and easy to use embedded semi‑automatic
calibration function. It calibrates the camera without involving up‑loading images to a
PC. This part of the internal Active Sensor Control eliminates typical large area scan
artifacts present in VITA 25K. With Active Sensor Control the 25 megapixel technology
can inally be used for accurate inspection and metrology applications.
