The goal of such meetings was to enable the continuous exchange and dissemination of up to date expertise and knowledge to all Ophthalmologists of the Delta region targeting mainly the junior ophthalmologist who recently joined the profession. The meetings proved very successful and gained national recognition which led to the establishment of the Delta Ophthalmological Society of Egypt (DOSE) in 1996. Until present time the Society has organized 78 meetings. In February 2012 DOSE intends to hold its First International Conference to benefit from world wide experience in the field of Ophthalmology.
