Our goal at Ironshore is
SIMPLE:
To be the best, highly focused, specialty Property/Casualty business in the world. We provide our broker partners with risk
management planning designed to adapt to the distinct business challenges facing each client. To accomplish this goal, we
have platforms in Bermuda, the U.S. and internationally that provide multiple distribution channels to access our products
and talent.
Now more than ever, nimbleness trumps scale as clients demand more syndication from the market to manage their risks.
The flexibility of our organization enables our senior leaders to navigate regulations that are constantly evolving and provide
opportunistic thinking that distinguishes us from our competitors.
This approach allows us to consistently deliver innovative solutions to our clients all over the world. Ironshore’s strong balance
sheet and strategic alliances benefit clients with syndicated capacity. By retaining excess capital and integrating our responsive
claims model with sound underwriting decisions, Ironshore is an obvious choice for clients in every major category.
While the market in Bermuda mainly concentrates on reinsurance, our focus is specialty insurance. Our unique view, entrepreneurial
culture, talented Bermuda-based team and global network continue to attract the best and the brightest in our business.
Our specialized experience and relentless commitment to service will continue to raise industry expectations and standards.
We truly appreciate your business and partnership.

Ironshore in Bermuda
Ironshore® may be one of the fastest-growing specialty insurance companies in the world today, but our
unique culture was born in Bermuda. In 2006, Ironshore laid out a new model designed to be more
entrepreneurial than institutional. We gave senior-level talent the freedom to create real change in a
supportive environment, thus creating more innovation and accountability.
So with fresh capital and no legacy issues, founder Robert Clements spearheaded an initiative in Bermuda
that launched what is now one of the largest Primary Property Insurance offerings in a marketplace that is
predominantly reinsurance focused—a landmark change. Our experienced leadership and strong offshore
capital provided an efficient and secure underwriting platform: truly a safe harbour during an uncertain time.
Today, we are the largest commercial property insurance provider on the island. In addition to our property
offering, we also have syndicated capacity through our Iron-Starr agency, which offers large limit capacity for
Excess Casualty, Financial Lines and Healthcare. When you have the right people in the right place at the
right time, great things can happen.
Ironshore Bermuda provides the best opportunity to diversify risk in an industry that demands a syndicated
approach. This approach, combined with our senior leadership team, strong balance sheet and diversified
product solutions, has enabled Ironshore Bermuda to emerge as a market leader during a critical time in
the insurance industry.
3
Ironshore around the world
Ironshore has expanded well beyond the borders of our first office in Bermuda. In fact, with over $1.9 billion in
fresh capital and more than $3.5 billion in investments in 2013, Ironshore has become one of the fastest-growing
companies in the industry, supporting more than a dozen core product units in 23 offices throughout the world.
Ironshore is rated A (Excellent) by A.M. Best with a Financial Size Category of Class XIV. Ironshore’s Syndicate
4000 operates within Lloyd’s, where the market rating is A (Excellent) by A.M. Best and A+ (Strong) from
both Fitch and Standard & Poor’s.
Ironshore provides broker-sourced specialty commercial property and casualty coverage for risks located
throughout the world. Through our platform in Bermuda, including Iron-Starr Excess,SM Ironshore writes
property and excess casualty insurance for global commercial risks. Ironshore’s North American operations
write commercial property and casualty insurance, including a variety of specialty coverages in Aviation,
Construction, Environmental areas, Healthcare Liability, Management & Professional Liability, Marine,
Personal Lines and Political Risk. Specialty coverages are underwritten by Lloyd’s through Ironshore’s
Pembroke Syndicate 4000. Ironshore’s international units operate primarily through Lloyd’s Syndicate 4000
and through our Dublin-based entity, providing marine, short tail specialist lines, property, casualty and
liability coverages.

Ironshore in our community
No matter how great our expansion in the world, the core values we established in Bermuda remain
unchanged. Especially our pledge to be actively involved in our local communities. Ironshore is committed to
launching initiatives that engage the young people of Bermuda, create real change in the local area and have
a positive cultural influence.
With that in mind, Ironshore partnered with Sandys 360, Bermuda’s first campus-based community centre
that serves as a hub for more than 13,000 children, adults and seniors. This national community program has
become an important contribution to our friends and neighbors across the island. We support several youth
basketball, cricket and aquatic programmes that provide a constructive forum for after-school and summer
activities. In addition to providing financial support, Ironshore provides resources to assist Sandys 360 with
financial planning and the strategic direction of the senior and junior leagues along with mentoring support.
We look forward to supporting Sandys 360 and its board for years to come.
Ironshore continually strives to be involved in many local charities, including the newly launched Early Teen
After School Program at the Coalition for the Protection of Children, Windreach Therapeutic Riding
Programme, Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Red Cross, Melange Breast Cancer, The Women’s Resource
Centre, Friends of Bermuda Railway Trail, and the Centre for Talented Youth, where we provide financial
assistance as well as after-school tutoring.

Our People & Process
The right leadership builds the best partnerships. That’s why Ironshore has assembled the top talent in the
industry with leaders who have helped define the areas in which they specialize. With an average of 27 years’
experience, our key executives are empowered to act like entrepreneurial owners, because indeed, they are.
This means no ivory towers or silos. You have direct access to senior-level decision makers who have the
freedom to immediately impact the long-term vitality and well being of your business. Our leadership team has
worked in the industry long enough to know what works and what doesn’t anymore. Smart and nimble works.
At Ironshore, we believe that local knowledge of each market is critical to providing the best possible
protection. As a key global resource for risk diversification, our senior managers are well versed in the
markets we underwrite. Our team leaders draw from broad product experience in multiple markets and
regions. And as one of the largest Primary Property insurers in Bermuda, it’s safe to say we’re the experts
in our market. We’re also well aware that our relationships are only as strong as our performance, so we
work tirelessly to provide the best possible service, as well as product and process innovation. In today’s risk
complex world, reliable guidance is needed now more than ever.

Claims Process Innovation
Innovation should go beyond new product offerings and customized planning. That’s why we designed a
more efficient system to address and process claims. Our in-house claims department is embedded in each
of our underwriting business units and operates under the same experienced leadership team. Ultimately,
the people responsible for issuing high-quality policies are also responsible for policy service and support,
particularly in the event of a claim. While this integrated service model seems fairly obvious, it’s unique within
the industry. At Ironshore, we never lose sight of the simple fact that businesses purchase insurance because
they need support in the event of a claim.
And when it comes to settling a claim, no other insurance firm has a better understanding or more expeditious
approach to claim management and fair resolution. We constantly monitor direct feedback we receive from
our brokers and clients. This process provides us with invaluable information and enables us to make certain
that we stand true to our promise and deliver on our pledge of service. With the risks that exist in the market
today, there’s never been a greater need for a trusted resource that can handle your claim in a responsive and
efficient manner. And at Ironshore, we’re committed to being that resource.
Our personalized approach saves our clients’ time, provides the best possible protection, and is the difference
between a mere insurance provider and a true insurance partner.
