Specially developed to meet the demands of calling predators in the cold, harsh conditions of
Nordic countries, the Mini Predator is an open-reed call that can imitate rodent
squeaks and rabbit and hare distress calls. It is extremely easy to use –
when Sporting Rifle tested it, we found that even utter novice
callers were producing convincing sounds within seconds.
The sound can be quickly varied by moving the o-ring up
and down the call’s membrane, and the mouthpiece
is freeze-proof – and all this in a call that’s
only 78mm long.

This call produces a unique
bird distress sound, which is
unlike the sounds produced by

a suspicious fox that has

woodpecker in distress or

WAM fox call
Foxpro mouth call set
Effective both for the beginner and the
experienced foxer, the WAM call is based
on a simple, lightweight design that will
appeal to traditionalists. That’s not to
say it can’t compete with modern
callers in terms of performance,
however: although
it resembles a
squeaker or closerange call, foxers
have reported using the
WAM to attract foxes from
200 yards out. It scores highly
in the other important attributes,

callers, but it’s proved itself more than
adept at manufacturing handheld callers
as well. Very easy to use, this mouth call
has an open reed design that will have you
making rabbit distress calls in seconds –
and with a bit more practice, it will allow
you to imitate a whole range of sounds.

dying rabbit call is made of a flexible material that allows for a great
degree of variation in the sound you produce. Squeeze
the end for a quiet whine, or release it for a louder,

Haydel’s GHC fox and
stoat call
Truly an all-round predator call, the
Haydel’s GHC is popular as a fox
call and can also be used to call in
stoats. It can produce three different
tones depending on how you use
it – blow into the barrel for a loud
and deep distress call, suck air out
to produce a mid-range call and use
the small ‘mouse squeaker’ in
the exhaust for close-range
work. Its manufacturer
also recommends
cupping your
hands over
the call to get
it to resonate,
further increasing
the auditory range it’s possible to produce.
