Screen gain is a numerical indicator to
explain the nature of reflection of an
image projected on a screen. Theoretically, the level of brightness obtained
when light is projected on a fully diffusive
panel is assigned the standard control
number 1, and this panel used for this
test is called the standard White plate
(a genuine White plate baked with
magnesium oxide). The brightness of a
different board obtained by conducting
the same test under the same condition
is compared against control standard
number 1. The difference is given as a
ratio of the two. It is recommended that
the user choose a screen giving image
formation at its best under the lux of light
used by the projector.

High-Quality Steel Sheet as Substrates
Stringent Quality Control
River Enamel uses as its substrate steel sheet
manufactured by JFE Steel Corporation specially made for
the process of porcelain enamel (KTM). These are unique
cold-rolled sheets with ultra low carbon and impurity
contents. There is a nickel-plating process before moving
to the subsequent processes. During these initial
manufacturing processes, JFE Metal Products &
Engineering Inc. and JFE Steel Corporation maintain a close
working relationship, which is the driving force for
producing porcelain enamel of unsurpassed quality.
A new “double-check” quality control program was put
into force in our new manufacturing facility. The surface
finish quality is now controlled by CCD cameras, followed
by trained inspectors’ visual inspection. Based on our
about forty years of experience and stock of knowledge, we
are confident we will be able to continue delivering quality
products meeting the needs of our customers.

Highly Advanced Technology
After the substrate steel sheet (KTM) is nickel-plated, a
porcelain-enamel membrane having the same property as
glass is used to coat (technically called “ground coat”)
the surface and the backside of each steel sheet, followed
by cover-coating (finishing) over its surface for fixation by
melting at about 800℃. This porcelain-enamel baking
process is the cornerstone of excellent product durability of
River Enamel. (The difference is clear between River
Enamel and that using aluminum-coated steel low
temperature baked at about 500℃.)
Grid pattern embedded that can be drawn on River Enamel
are unique. Grid pattern are a surface embedded material
made of porcelain enamel that comes in coil.

●Images projected on the screen can be touched with different color chalks for emphasis and/or decoration. The
process and the teacher’
s action will stay long in the memories of students.
●A steel sheet is used as the substrate of porcelain enamel, so magnet holders can be used to hold sheets,
slides, etc., except for graphic paper and adhesive tape.
●The user can use the Chalk Projection Board either as a screen or as a Chalkboard.
●Writing on or erasing from a Chalk Projection Board is just as easy as with an ordinary Chalkboard.
