new collaboration introduces upholstered
dining and occasional chairs into the

Dixon’s home, the extraordinary Elway
Hall in Warrenton, Virginia was the
backdrop for the lifestyle photography
in this catalog. Barry arranged his new
Arteriors’ designs alongside his own
originals producing the ideal balance
of high and low, rustic and refined
that defines Barry Dixon’s aesthetic.

Barry’s home, Elway Hall, is located in Virginia horse country so the inspiration for the antique brass
handles on these leather tables came quite naturally. The cocktail table looks perfect with the Auger
Floor Lamp, Kudo Side Chair, Lupine Accent Table, Gold Egg, Josephine Screen and Marleybone
Decanter. The rug is an original antique Oushak, and the yellow bowls are Ming Dynasty.

This is our updated interpretation of a Parisian 1920s antique beaded screen which reminded
Barry of an African costume once worn by Josephine Baker. He suggests you use it to flank an
open doorway, next to a long sofa or as a dressing scrim in the bath or bedroom.

These hand-blown Polish decanters with
multiple stacking chambers were a part of
Barry’s first collection, and this time a lamp
option is available. Fill them with carefully
blended colored water that can be changed
depending on the season, the furniture, or your
mood. This picture was taken in Barry’s study
with the new Stirrup End Table and the
Wyeth Leather Box. The wall panel is antique
Zuber, the draperies are a woven William
Morris documentary, the bust is from Sicily
and the artglass compote is from Murano.

This intricately etched glass Canton Cloche bring a
touch of elegance to any room. The patterns take their
inspiration from the far east as well as the flora and
fauna found on the grounds of Elway Hall, bridging
the boundary between East and West. Barry uses the
domes to keep desserts or cheese covered on buffets or
to display treasures like this Han Dynasty Chinese
statue which is on a nightstand in one of Barry’s ten
guestrooms.

Directly inspired by African currency which can consist of tools, weapons and ceremonial pieces, these
handmade items are mounted on simple iron stands to create sculptural accents. They look great by
themselves or in an arrangement as on this mantle in Barry’s family room. The two large jars are lidded
Moroccan spice jars and the tortoise-like sculptural piece is a 19th century tribal shield, one of Barry’s
finds in Africa.

The intricate design and texture of this ceramic lamp is drawn from a Middle Eastern
lidded urn, originally used for storing spices and grain in the 18th century. Although bright
colors were more commonly used, Barry chose a graphic ivory and charcoal coloration that
will elegantly blend into a variety of decors.
