Banding
All decorative horizontal bands on a building are designed to accentuate the different parts of the structure. A horizontal
band at the lower level floor or base is known as a watertable detail to accent the base of the facade. Banding is usually any
horizontal trim located at the floor levels above the main floor. These members generally have the same purpose to create
horizontal details across a building facade. Acrocore mouldings are manufactured to 8' lengths.

Columns, Caps & Bases
A decorative column is formed in 3 parts: column, cap and base. These elements usually serve as the main architectural
style of the building as they are so typically pronounced at the main entrances to homes, municipal buildings, churches
and commercial structures. A pilaster is designed to represent a decorative column that is embedded in a flat wall surface.
You will see this element at the entrance of many different types of buildings or spaced evenly on a long facade to create a
colonnade effect to add depth and character to a flat elevation.

Commercial Series
Acrocore's Commercial Series of exterior mouldings encompass a wide range of larger,
dimensionally appropriate profiles that have been specifically designed for their aesthetic
suitability with our smaller scale residential series profiles for use on all types of commercial
structures.
Most of our Commercial Series profiles are shipped uncoated, enabling maximum onsite post
installation design flexibility.
If dictated, we can also produce any shape or custom profile exterior moulding with cement
coating that your project requires. Let our technical staff assist you in bringing your next one-ofa-kind building to fruition. Acrocore mouldings are manufactured to 8' lengths.
Larger Profiles:
Our profiles can be cut to any size maximizing at 48" x 36" x 96" long. If you need a massive profile
for your commercial project, you have found the right product. From a simple square band to an
ornate window casing with ogee curves and beading, we can produce any shape and size.

Installation Guides
1. Preparation of surfaces:
• Clean all surfaces. Wall surface and moulding shall be clean and dry.
• All surfaces shall be a minimum of 38º Fahrenheit (3.3º Celsius) or higher.
• Building surface shall be level, plum and ready to accept stucco mouldings.
• Installer shall contact general contractor responsible for work if building surfaces are not level, plum and clean before application of
stucco mouldings.
• All mouldings shall be cut and dry fit prior to applying any adhesive materials.
2. Apply adhesive to the back surface of stucco moulding. Use approved adhesive such as PL premium or equal for the purpose of
adhering to the substrate (building surface).
• We recommend using Acro-coat cement mix when joining moulding to moulding. When applying to Stucco, use Flexcoat adhesive
and approved mesh when joining moulding to moulding.
• When joining moulding to moulding at miter joints, remove ¼”deep x approx. 3/8” wide of foam before applying Acro-coat material to
allow for adequate adhesion. Wipe away all excess material when miter is joined together.
• Apply approved adhesive using a 3/8" notched trowel. Adhesive shall be applied vertically and all excess adhesive shall be wiped clean
prior to installation.
3. With adhesive applied, push moulding into place after providing all level and plum guide lines. You should use mechanical fasteners to
hold mouldings while adhesive cures.
4. See detail for mechanical fastener if required, provide pre-drilled holes prior to using fastening nail.
5. Clean all surfaces of adhesive prior to adhesion during curing period.
6. After adhesive cures, apply caulking at all joints between mouldings and building substrate. Provide caulking between joined mouldings.
7. Allow all materials to cure and dry before painting with elastomeric masonry, stucco & brick paint.

match or create any moulding you can dream up. All our mouldings are shaped using specialized
CNC equipment so custom sizes and shapes are never a problem. Your needs are the primary
concern of our design team.
Match Historical Profiles:
We have found on many of our commercial projects, our customers choose from our standard set
of profiles and we design larger pieces to match on a job specific basis. Please see our stock profiles
and choose from them or make them proportionately larger or smaller, we can accommodate
you.
