Local support includes RI Children's Librarians, the Friends of the Pawtucket Public Library, McDonalds, and the Pawtucket Library’s Caidin Fund . Tuesday, June 30th at 3 p.m.– 4 p.m. Summer Reading Program Kick-off Party Sign-ups begin at this party (but you can sign up anytime in July too). Fill out your form and then get your picture taken with either of these Avengers ! All ages in the Campbell Auditorium. Children’s Library Registration encouraged, but not required. Call the Children’s Librarian to register at 725-3714 x209 or email to [email protected] Story times run approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Lap-Sit Mother Goose Story time Class Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. For ages newborn to 24 months Parents and caregivers with children ages newborn through 24 months are invited for playful songs, rhymes and games followed by social time. Older siblings are welcome. No class June 4,11 July 2. Toddler Story time Class Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. For ages 2 & 3 years old Toddler Storytime Class is for children ages 2 and 3 with their adult caregivers. This program features stories, songs, finger rhymes and a craft. Siblings welcome! No class June 3,10 July 1. Preschool Story time Class Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. For ages 3 to 5 years old Preschoolers ages 3 to 5 years with an adult caregiver are invited to the library for stories, music, movement and other fun activities. Younger siblings are welcome. Held in Campbell Auditorium. Note: Each week the library therapy dogs, Tinker Bell and Wendy, join the class wearing costumes related to the stories for the week. No class June 2, 9, 30 Tuesday, July 7 at 2:30 pm. Superhero Training Camp Wear your superhero costume and try out the stations to improve your skills: strength, coordination, and saving the day abilities! Best for kids ages 3-8 with an adult caregiver. Wednesday, July 15th at 10:30 am Story Class with Shawn Middleton Join author and award winning storyteller Shawn Middleton as he brings stories to life with finger puppets, sound effects, voice dramatization, pauses, rhythm, sign language, mime and hip hop dance. For Pre-Schoolers and their families. Tuesday, July 28th at 10:30am ‘Frozen’ Prince/Princess Party Preschoolers and their families are invited for singing, dancing, reading stories, and even photo taking with Elsa and Anna! Saturday, August 1st 2:30pm– 4:00pm Superhero Costume Making Event Come to the program to create a unique superhero mask and cape. Dress up and take the opportunity to get some great photos at our Superhero Photo Booth station. Please remember to bring your own phones/camera. Best for kids ages 12 and under. Free and no registration needed. Held in the Campbell Auditorium. Wednesday August 5th, at 6:00pm Bwana Iguana Reptile Show Join Ray Ward for an educational, entertaining and fun program that explores the mysterious realm of the reptile. Audiences of all ages marvel at the exciting live demonstration. Wednesday, August 19th at 6:00 pm Summer Reading Program Finale Party featuring superhero face painting by Creative Chica’s Jennifer Rolfsema! There will be prize raffles (free entries for children that have read 12 or more hours during the Summer) . Music With Mr. Rowland Thursdays @ 10:30 a.m. August 20, 27 Families with young children (babies to age 7) are invited for a musical jam session! Bring a friend and get ready to sing and dance to lively tunes or play along on rhythm instruments. You won’t want to miss a beat. All programs will be in the Basement Library Auditorium and are sponsored by the Caidin Fund and the Office of Library and Information Services. Superhero Training Camp Tues. Tuesdays 5:30pm to 6:30pm in Caidin Room Need to practice reading or just like reading to dogs? Then Tinker Bell and Wendy are your dogs! Call the Children’s Library at 725-3714 ext.209 to reserve your 15-minute reading spot. This program is free for children of all ages. Family Movie Night First Wednesday of the month @ 6:00pm Campbell Library Auditorium Children with their families are invited to watch a free movie (rated G or PG). Kids 9 or older may attend without a caregiver. No August Movie (Bwana Iguana reptile show instead). LEGO Club & Game Day Every Friday 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm Tuesday July 22nd at 2:30pm Special Thanks to Mr. Provenzano and Golden Arch Enterprises! Superhero Costume Making Event Sat. August 1st 2:30pm - 4:00pm Campbell Auditorium Bring your imagination, we'll provide the LEGOs—Megablocks & Duplos too! A variety of board games and card games will also be available. Drop in! Program will include picture schedule, music, movement, fun stories and sensory activities! Great for families looking for a small group. Best for ages 3-5 year olds but any child is welcome. Registration required. Children’s Library Children’s Library will be inside the Children’s Library all summer long! Come on in and take your child’s picture with their favorite super-hero! Children of all ages can be Summer Readers. Sign-ups start Tuesday June 30 @ 3:00 pm. The goal: read twelve hours or more during the summer. Summer Readers… Read on their own or with family and friends Record the number of minutes/hours they read Report three times at the library or bookmobile Receive free admission passes and prizes! All reading counts including whole books, chapters, reading list books, magazines, comic books, graphic novels, newspapers, audio books , EZone e-books and anything else that has a title and an author. Reach your reading goal and enter to win!... Summer Readers who reach the reading goal will receive a certificate and prize. All children who complete the reading will be entered into prize raffles.
