researched and produced by
In other terms, the new rules of global
competition.
This is the beginning of an IP Economy.
Chosen to host the main seat
of the Unitary Patent Court,
the capital of Luxury goods
and home to some of the world’s most famous brands, will
be the capital of IP this December. Join us in Paris on December 9, 10 and 11 for the next
Paneuropean IP Summit.
After a century-long industrial revolution, and
a few decades-long rise of a services economy,
the world has swiftly — in a matter of years
since its inflexion point in 2011 — shifted into
a knowledge era. This era, which political and
business leaders still have to apprehend, has
started with innovation at a pace and in proportions never seen before, and drives the increasing importance of intangibles on the corporate
balance sheets, in international trade, in States
productivity.
This year, for its first time ever, the IP
Summit comes to necessarily Paris. Indeed, according to the compromised deal
signed in June 2012 by the Council of the
EU, Paris should soon host the main seat
of the Unitary Patent Court. Furthermore,
what would be the best place to speak
about Luxury and Consumer Goods of
Branded Labels...
Three days will be necessary to tackle
all the key issues: with a mix of keynote speeches, plenary sessions and
workshops, this three-day-conference
aims at discussing, with high-level speakers from the industry and representatives of international public authorities,
major recent evolutions, actions, and
ongoing reforms

Electronic Patent Litigation
This session will bring together three judges from
three different EU member states, two teams of
lawyers and patent attorneys. It will present an
accelerated full patent infringement procedure
case for the Paris Central Division, from the written
procedure, the interim procedure before the judge
rapporteur to the final oral pleadings on the merits.

A fresh breeze into windsurfing
Henry Schweitzer’s son has exploited an unnoticed
loop-hole in the new UP regulation and has been
granted a new unitary patent for a windsurfer based
on the original patent application filed in 1968. He
has now instructed his lawyers to enforce his new
patent… Find out how a classic in patent litigation
would be argued today under the new UP Rules of
Procedure. This mock up trial will raise numerous
procedural issues, including the order of the
pleadings, language of the proceedings, application
of local law, amendment of the patent, amendment
of the pleadings, bifurcation, designation of a
technical judge, and many others.
