history
We at Lloyd/Flanders® are dedicated to carrying on the traditions of Marshal B. Lloyd,
who developed a timeless and unique process for creating fine woven furniture. It is
this dedication that earns us the reputation of creating heirloom furnishings enjoyed by
many generations.
When the Flanders family purchased the company over a quarter of a century ago we set
out to create the most durable line of woven furniture that would offer unsurpassable
comfort and fashion forward design for both indoor and outdoor use. Since that time
Lloyd/Flanders® has become the most trusted and sought after woven furniture today.
Lloyd/Flanders® has received many distinguished awards: Consumers Digest Best Buy,
Lillian B. Winchester Award, Better Homes and Gardens and, most recently, the coveted
Pinnacle Award for its versatile Sun Chaser.

In 1917, Marshall B. Lloyd patented a process
of weaving cellulose strands into wicker fabric.
Lloyd/Flanders® has advanced the
original technology producing a
continuous strand that will not burr, crack,
or peel resulting in a consistently smooth weave.
Each strand in the fabric’s warp is constructed of twisted
cellulose fibers immersed in glue to prevent unraveling.
In the weft, the strands are reinforced with
aluminum wire for added strength and resilience.
Following the weaving process, the wicker
is completely submerged in a resin emulsion
and heated to form a flexible coating
which provides protection from moisture.
The wicker is then contoured over
a sturdy aluminum frame and is completed
with our special Durium® finish ensuring years of use.
This innovative manufacturing process allows
Lloyd/Flanders® to produce wicker furniture
that is both versatile and durable. Coupled with upscale
design and stylish comfort, it has quickly become the
most sought-after all weather wicker furniture available today.

redefines outdoor seating comfort. Our premium cushions
feature exceptional seating comfort and resilience, inherently
mildew/bacteria resistant components, and the security of
knowing that our Comfort Plush™ Premium Outdoor
Seating System is an environmentally friendly product.
Lloyd/flanders® Comfort Plush™ cushions are made using
Spring Bond Premium cushioning, which
incorporates 1.5 density High Resilience California Fire
Rated Foam and the special Spring Bond Fiber.
Our Spring Bond Premium cushion core is wrapped with
100% polyester fiber, a combination meeting the
requirements of California’s Technical Bulletin #117. Bonded
to this foam and fiber wrapped core is a 100% polypropylene
jacket completely encompassing the entire Spring Bond cushion
core. The jacket is composed of two layers of spun bond fabric
which sandwich an inner layer of meltblown fabric, hence the
name SMS (spun bond+meltblown+spun bond). Meltblown
material is hydrophobic, which means to literally “shed water”.
